Excellent video! After watching I replaced my old cistern with a dual flush from screwfix costing £11.00 So easy.

I recommend people switch back to a lever flush syphon flush system, since the push button valves leak after a few years and you waste 2-3 flushes a day down the pan. This is due to bits of limescale getting in the flush valves seal causing water waste...

Many thanks James for your video. Very informative and helpful. I bought the Fluidmaster BOTTOM INLET system and after watching your video, realised I didn't need it. Very good video, straight forward and easy to follow.

I have found with the vintage style toilet and modern handle flush, my elderly relatives give it a yank like the old days. This has resulted in the mechanism snapping inside 🤬🤬. I’m looking for a replacement now UK.

Great video, unsure if I can use it, as have a push button on the top of a cistern, I need to add or move a lever control to the front right side (usual), so there is no confusion about what it does. I guessing that no one usually tried to drill a cistern to put in alternate controls ? But thanks I have bookmarked this video for future viewing again, and maybe again after that. Regards Colm.

This video made it possible for me to do it myself. Good video, good product. Cheers. Only problem is my toilet seat touches the button when I raise it. It doesnt fall back down when I let go though so its good enough for me. It must be down to my particular design of toilet of course.

James Moore nope, mine would do the same so I’ve opted for the lever one

What about the old overflow in the bottom, can that be left disconnected and a blanking plug used in the hole?
