How to Update your Unifi Controller on Linux

In this video I explain how to Update your Unifi Controller on Linux, in this example my controller is on a Ubuntu server hosted on Microsoft Azure but this method applies to any flavor of Linux. Many thanks. It's working perfectly. upgraded Unif controler from 7.1.66 -> 7.1.68 -> 7.2.92 and latest version to 7.2.94 september 2022 on a Raspbian 11. I had many versions gap and I prefered to do the migration path throug all intermediate version to avoid any issue. The same procedure each time as you mentionned. I just displayed the ''SEE PAST SOFTWARE'' to copy the links of old version. it worked Great !

My laptop has Ubuntu 20.04 Server installed and is the controller for my UniFi AP AC Pro. There is a file "UniFi" with the old controller software version. Do I cd UniFi then proceed with the wget updated controller software update address?

Not necessarily only if you receive an error during installation

Hi Jorge if your controller is hosted in the cloud, you'll need to enter the ip address or domain name of the server with the port :8443 and the end of it. That's assuming it's using the default port number.
