Nice video and brake job. I 've always used the old brake pad and a c-clamp to compress the caliper pistons with out ever messing up the rubber seals and never thought buying the tool was needed.

Best to do a 2005 big brake upgrade. Replace the 1999-2004 small rotors with the 2005-2007 bigger rotors and calipers/brackets. Rear brakes can use the SUV dual piston calipers and vented rotors for 01-07' Suburban, for it's 7,200lb. GVWR

You can now do the 2019-2022 Chevy brake upgrade. I have 35’s and I d don’t really like my the 07+ brake set up. Hopefully the 13.5’s and decent rotors will do the trick.

I just this upgrade and it’s highly recommended. The stock single piston calipers will fail and cause a lot of problems. The dual piston caliper upgrade is a must. Plus change out the torx bolts with the hex head ones to make things way easier in the front.

You can buy 07 brake rotors and calipers and they will fit directly on. HOWEVER you need 17” wheels or bigger. That next gen if brakes are far superior at a fraction of the cost

You can also use SUV rear dual piston discs, and the police version has a thicker rotor.

Great video. I was also hoping you might review the Power Stop brake kit and note any improvement in stopping power as compared to what you replaced. I have a 2006 Suburban and have changed to a higher end pad and noticed a slight improvement in stopping power. Brake pad longevity also a major improvement. Silverado and Subs are known to have spongy brake pedals and if towing you need all the stopping power you can. I flush my brake fluid annually and love my old truck but the brakes, including the emergency brake have always been fair at best. Are there any real benefits of buying power stop products vs. installing any typical high end pad, shoe, rotor. Will my truck stop better? Thanks again for you well produced video.

You can now use 2020 Silverado Calipers. They are 13.5, and 4 piston calipers. Starting around 05, some 1/2 tons also came with a factory hydro booster. If you want something bolt on.
