How To Upgrade Dell Latitude 7280 From M.2 SATA SSD To NVMe SSD

This Dell #Latitude7280 is one of the perfection from Dell. This 7280 comes with M.2 SATA SSD but to make it even faster I am going to replace this M.2 SATA into M.2 #NVMe 1 TB SSD #Upgrade
As well as, I am going to install brand new Windows 10 On this.

On video you say that m.2 nvme is faster than m.2 sata, that is correct, but 2:44 you show the m.2 sata instead of nvme! It looks like you replacing the faster ssd with slower. Be more patient, and don't confuse the people

Very useful video thanks.. I got a 7280 on a great deal. I wonder if the laptop can get the full speed of the NVME drive? Drive speed comparison before and after would have been interesting to see.

I think you made a bit of mistake in mixing up sata ssd with nvme ssd. The one with ONE notch/U slot has best performance the NVME SSD. The one with 2 notches/u slot is the M.2 SATA SSD has less performance. VERY IMPORTANT point. Mentioned by another comment earlier.Please revise video and go a bit slower. It seems some Dells you can fit both SATA or NVMe SSD'S in the SSD SLOT i.e Dell latitude 7390

So I installed the new m.2 in the Dell and took out the setup but the Dell says it doesn't have to drivers where do I find the drivers

I was with you until you partitioned the drive. What possible benefit could there be to partitioning an SSD?

If you have more than 1 partitioning, that would help you keep your personal data protected even if the system partition gets crushed. To have this advantage, you must have to keep your personal data shifted from system drive(C) to other partition. Thanks

@@thepcphone assuming the reason the system partition gets crushed isn't because the disk itself is malfunctioning. I'm tthe IT manager of an engineering and manufacturing company for the past 18 years and I can tell you that the number of times I've seen a system partition go sideways that wasn't related to hard drive failure, is essentially 0%. Your idea DOES make sense if you have a 2nd hard drive, keeping your data residing on the 2nd drive is the best way to protect it, or upgrade the primary drvie.
