How to upgrade the inside of the Land Rover Discovery 3 headlights

In this video we upgrade the inside of our Land Rover Discovery 3 headlights by removing the orange plastic part and adding some laser cut black vinyl to covers some of the chrome areas.

In the video the spare side light connector which is used in the USA could you not use it to put some led strip lights like a discovery 4

Looks great well done. Can the bulbs be all changed to leds or hds? Also if I send you a set can you do the work? I have bought and installed disco 4 rear lights , grill and a few other parts all got from you and am very happy with how it turned out. Actually ordered 2 grilles by mistake so still have to send 1 back.

Hi - we really are not set up to do the headlights for people...we try and make it so people can do it themselves. No problem sending the other grille back.

Hi why the headlight warmed up in the furnace? Is it necessary or not?

Hi - we put it in the oven to warm soften the adhesive that holds the lens to the main body of the light. You can use a heat gun or similar.

Just so I understand you don't replace the adhesive just reuse the old adhesive? What about if you are replacing the lens with new lens?

Hi Mark - good point - and 2 reasons a) we did not have any in the workshop / warehouse b) no sure if it will cause a fast flash problem - easy to fix with resistor... We can do this later...

Sorry but it’s a botch job I wouldn’t want to ruin my lights like that the vinyl looked awful at the end and that vinyl is going to lift with the changes in temperature in the uk

Hi Stuart - you points are of cause valid ... although a little harshly presented. We have not had complaints of lifting yet and our disco is still fine but it does not get used much so its not really a fair test. The vinyl used is for the exterior of cars which will see some extremes of temperature so i hope it should be OK.

Oh My GAWD!!!! For some reason this video is so difficult to watch. I had to turn the volume off. I then had to turn the picture off too, that made the video much easier to watch. Lay off the caffeine and stop sniffing the glue, you make me nervous and twitchy listening to you and watching you.
