Might want to include info on Win 11 being unsupported on certain older CPU's, such as: only CPU's that include "SSE 4.2" will function for Win 11 installation. The free software "CPU-Z" can indicate whether the CPU includes SSE 4.2. Therefore: some early 64-bit CPU's probably won't allow installation of Win 11.

Any ideas? I went and did (I know I’m not a fan either) to use a software to check and update any/all drivers. No change. When it goes to boot, it looks like there is a problem there. It then starts reboot again and (I am guessing) restores it back to a previously store restore point.

So I finally figured out what is wrong. Apparently Win 11 24H2 REQUIRES a processor with PopCnt and SSE4.2, which are features not with my processor. I knew that the error seemed to indicate a hardware issue. As best I can tell, there is no way around this. Question is (of course) is this something that truly is a “critical feature” of 24H2

Evening - the installation on the HPZ420 went fine - faster as has 64gb ram & 12 core 2697v2 fitted. But again on MBR & had to use the Eng international for the job this time. Cleared out the old os remnants & now super fast & good to 2026! No verbose loading messages started on this one though.... strange. I don't understand how I could upgrade from 21H2 to 23H2 but can't upgrade from 23H2 to 24H2. When trying to install 24H2, I have tried every method on the internet and getting error, "POPCNT/SSE4.2" or "0xC1900101-0x20017 the installation failed in the safe_os phase with an error during boot operation." I have tried with rufus, "MBR and GPT ," and also from CMD with the same results. I have tried disabling my network adapters before installation, updating my drivers and still the same results.

@@Tips2Fix Thank you for responding, my Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16GHz only supports POPCNT SSE4.1 Workaround, not SSE4.2, and I have watch all of your videos concerning this topic, including the Windows 11 24H2 LTSC, which the LTSC would not be an option for me. So I'll just stick with 23H2, I guess until Windows 12 is released, by then I'll probably have purchased a more up gradable computer.....

You need a CPU with SSE 4.2 on the same motherboard if you can find one or should upgrade your hardware to a mobo with a cpu that supports the instruction set.

I'm trying your tutorial step by step and it works until first restar. After that on screen is only Windows Logo, but nothing more happen. To rescue the system, I've used an usb stick to reload old system again. Do you know, some thing about this issue?

Boot in Safe Mode: Restart and press F8 or Shift + F8 before Windows loads to boot in Safe Mode. This can help identify if a driver or software is causing the issue. 2. Repair Boot Files: Use your USB stick to boot into the recovery environment and run bootrec /fixmbr and bootrec /fixboot in the command prompt to repair the boot files. 3. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings: Ensure that Secure Boot is disabled and that the boot mode is set correctly for your system (UEFI or Legacy BIOS). Let me know how it goes!

I have read that all bypasses methods can NOT find solution for so olds CPU which does NOT support SSE 4.2 (POPCNT) as result after installation of 24H2 to made restarts automatically. You can try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter from Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot. My only issue I have now since getting windows 11 24H2 in my unsupported Dell micro optiplex 7050 i7- 7th gen T , is that I can’t remove 8.63 gb of windows clean up files from disk utility or run a clean sfc scan in command prompt ( both instances as admin of course ) . I do not know what to do . I reinstalled windows 11 clean about 4 times and tried checking cbs logs to see where any errors lie and still no use , even after yesterdays ( Tuesday’s ) week patch updates . Still no luck . I guess I’m stuck with a lingering 10gb on my OS drive that will not clean up in command prompt sfc scans or dism commands anymore ?

For people who are stuck in windows logo/black screen after fisrt restart : It means you'll no be able to get 24h2. So, hold power menu to shut down, restart, until get troubleshoot blue page (you may have to hold power button and restart 2 times to get trblsh page) : * Troubleshoot * Advanced options * Startup settings * Restart * Select safe mode then enter * After booting, go to device manager, Network adapters, disable all of them * Restart (windows will boot normally) * Go to device manager, network adapters, uninstall those devices * Click on search for new device (your network adapters will be reinstalled, or you can install them manually according to your pc model)

Hi, thanks as always. I've just updated my computer's version from 23h2 to version 24h2 like the way you've shown in the video. It's working great so far, it's just that I'm experiencing HIGH CPU and RAM usage from this version of Windows compared to the older version (23h2). Can you do a tutorial on how to dual boot windows 10 and 11 ?

Great idea! To dual boot Windows 10 and 11, first create a partition for each OS. Install Windows 10 on one partition, then install Windows 11 on the other. During boot, you’ll get an option to choose which OS to run. I’ll look into making a full tutorial on it soon. Stay tuned!

Fixed it but it says installation failed in the first_boot phase with an errror during sysprep_specialize

I update my system from 23H2 to 34H2. Everything was smooth. Then After updame my system, During update session I get the message "Install error - 0x800f0825 " how can I recover this situation THANKS

On my Toshiba the bessst update is this version I installed it via RUFUS it’s faster more stable and better than all versions including windows 10
