Yeah I don't know much about stereo systems either. Some people in the comments said I used the wrong speakers and that's probably true but it still works.

Even if you upgrade the head unit do you still have to do the wiring like this?

I will be honest with you I am far from an expert when it comes to this stuff.I believe it had to be done this way because I am still using the factory amp and steering wheel controls.I got the wiring harness and stereo head unit from crutchfield and hooked it up using their instructions.

The only problem is you’re installing a 4-ohm speaker on a 2-ohm amplifier, which is going to lose volume!

Were you able to use the factory head unit? And did you need an amp or did these just go right in?

Well I had already replaced the head unit with a apple car play Sony head unit.I did not use an amp.But someone commented on this video that I used the wrong speakers so they shouldn't work with the factory amp.I am not a stereo guy but it sounds good enough for me and plenty loud.If you just want it to work this is what I did,But if you want everything perfect probably better off finding someone who knows about stereos.Wish I could be of more help but stereos are pretty low on my list or prioritys.lol.

When I changed out my front speakers all I did was remove those square black covers, they kinda just pop out and easy access ... I didn't remove the door panel at all ...

Been so long since I changed them maybe I didn't have to remove the door panels either.
