Bethany! We’re so thrilled with this walk-thru of our service, here at D2D! I wanted to thank you, but I also wanted to share a tip that you might find useful: When you were copying and pasting your keywords, you had them all in a field and separated by commas. You can actually grab that whole list, commas and all, and paste it into the keyword field on D2D. When you hit Enter/Return our system will automagically separate each term after the comma! So no need to copy and paste one by one. :) Thank you again! We loved the walk-thru!

Hi thanks so much for your videos, super helpful. You didn't click Amazon for this D2D ebook because you said you went to KDP directly - why is that? Also when you later demonstrated the UBL it showed Kindle as one of the sellers and when you clicked it it took you to the book's Amazon page that showed all versions (ebook, paperback, hardcover). Hi Bethany, Your video was really helpful. I just uploaded my Book to KDP in October as an ebook called Jamie and her Dog Pepper go to the Pumpkinpatch.. I have been struggling to covert the format from an ebook size format to a paperback format. I want to sell my book in paperback on Amazon, but, I am still working on it. I even hired a Guy to do the formatting for me and He can't figure it out either. I am going to try and do this Draft 2 Digital to see if I can get it to work. I wanted to thank you for all of your information. I am going to upload my book to all of the other places that you listed and hoping I can sell my book on those sites too. I do have a question, do you need to have a sellers permit to sell in UK and Canada? I know KDP will be sending me a 1099 at the end of the year. You don't, because D2D doesn't do print books, only ebooks at the moment.

Very cool and easy to use. I had a question though about that formating section where you can get headers and scene breaks. Does the download then allow you to get the PDF which is uploadable to like Ingram and KDP for paperback books so then the design inside is universal whether it is paperback or ebook? The interior formatting and design part is what I'm nervous about when it comes time to publish my own book.

Yes you could technically download this formatting, but even though the headers and such will be pretty, you have to keep in mind it's still ebook formatting, not print formatting. For example, in ebooks everything is squished on the page, while in print, chapters begin halfway down the page. Another example is that ebooks will have links highlighted and clickable, while you wouldn't want to format that way for paperback. I wouldn't recommend transferring ebook style formatting over to print, even though technically you can.

However on both Kindle (Jpeg) and Paperback (PDF) manuscripts, the text from my exported "5 x 8" word document, is all over the place and certainly not suitable for publication. I know Amazon gives free ones and D2D does as you just showed in this video. Is there an order to where we should publish 1, 2nd, 3rd (Ingram Sparks)? Also, if I take the free ISBN from Amazon when I get to draft 2 digital, I guess I would say that I will use my own ISBN? Or since it's my own company should I just purchase from Bowker? Do you have a video on how to set up preorders? I just found out Amazon doesn't do it for Paperbacks so I am trying to navigate where to publish first if I want a preorder set up for paperback books. Hi, I found your channel the other day and just subscribed. Thanks for making such great (clean!) videos! Sometimes those are hard to find. I’ve been writing since I was little and I’ve had a book published (not a good one, and it’s not being sold lol) but am currently trying to work on and prepare for a four book series in writing. It’s a Peter Pan Twist, so your fairytale twist videos and series videos are a wonderful inspiration and help!! I was wondering, although you may not write them, is there anyway you could make a video on Multiple POVS, and how to make your main protagonist shine through despite having multiple POVS (character arcs)? My series has multiple POVs, and I want to make sure to give them all good development, but keep the main one at the forefront too. If even possible. Also, if you could make a video on how to begin a book or series, that would also be great because I’m struggling with the beginning. My heart isn’t in it, and I’m ready to jump into the middle, but would rather work my way there. Thanks!

Bethany, Perhaps you could answer this question for me. Because D2D had yet to respond. I have uploaded my first ebub with them. But I'm not clear on the legalities of this site. Their Print option is steal in beta. But there is a clause that you have limited reuploads if you chose to print with them. I am acting as my own editor. So sometimes I find mistakes AFTER I have uploaded a book. I have more freedom to edit with KDP so I feel that it might be best to remain with them for printing. Am I free to print with KDP if I've already uploaded an epub version of the same novel on D2D?

I had formatted it before but couldn't find the file so have format my book all over again and this is my first time self publishing so I'm learning as I go. Your videos are EXTREMELY helpful! Also do you know if, when using my own ISBN #, do I need to register it in Bowker first before uploading to KDP, or Draft to Digital, or anywhere else or do I upload to the sites first? That's a silly question I guess but I just want to make sure I'm doing this right and I have a block of 10 ISBN's but it's like a 15 page process to register the title and I did not know that... I have a question. You know how you download the MOBI file and use that for KDP? So, is it fine that you now have the dragons in your book? Like is in infringement in any way? Basically, I'm curious if I could add something via D2D and turn around and upload that version to other publishing sites. Thanks for sharing!

Yay so glad! Not sure why you'd want to, but I think you probably could upload different kinds of files to D2D, it wouldn't just have to be a word file. Best place to check would be the website itself!

Do you have to use their formatting? I am not fond of their styles, and I have mine being formatted with someone else? Can i just upload and distribute?
