Do an underpainting of one colour, then the crackle paste,then another colour. The base colour will show through the cracks.

You might to try Distress Craising medium. It makes a ton of tiny cracks like on old porcelain or China.

I also have an alternate waste water system using Dolomite lime and Aluminum Sulphate! Just google for instructions but again so easy!

I have tons of crackle mediums, but none that you have shown haha. My favourite is Pentart Fineline crackle! It’s the best! From Hungary I think, but cheap to buy in Australia. But you need a solvent based top coat at the end. That’s the only bother..

The cool thing about ranger cracker paste is that you dye it with spray stains or acrylic paints

Hi Catherine. I’m new to your channel and loving it! Thank you for sharing your experiments with us. I used white glue, I painted an old barn door with acrylic paint, let dry, painted on Lepage’s white school glue, let dry and then painted on a top coat of acrylic and hit it with a heat gun/hair dryer. I did this in sections and that door is now my studio table that I use daily!

Yes I've tried that as well. So many fabulous crackle products to experiment with.
