I would re-attach the caribiner on the chain to shorten it. Also, I would actually re-attach it back to the belt ring so that the belt isn't off centered on your torso.

To prevent it from dangling, just wrap the chain twice instead of once around the dumbbell. Another tip: make sure you pull the chain towards the top to ensure it will stay put as you move.

try wrapping them the opposite way round the bar to what seems logical. i've had similar issues to what you describe but today i wrapped them round the opposite way and voila no issues!

No one else made any jokes about the term 'dangle' used. I mean this is low hanging fruit (pun). Of course it dangles with the other things that dangle between the legs :) Someone else who made this video called it an accessory exercise. Since when is pull up an accessory exercise? It is a primary pull compound movement... There only are two pull motions, which are basically two components of the same motion: pull up and row. Elbows go from overhead extend all the way down and behind you. It is funny most people lift these with elbows out to the side, a weaker motion. If elbows are in front, you are stronger and can pull more weight. Extension is stronger than adduction of the shoulder, and if you are doing any shoulder rotation (you shouldn't), your movement will be weaker.

To me that seems wrong, straps totally take the strain off your grip and put them on your wrists. Are you sure you are using them correctly? Like I said I did a lil video on deadlift grips that have straps in there, not that I say alot. I can do a whole video on them though, could be a nice easy topic that people would enjoy.
@Irgendeinidiot

So you did a video about a dip belt, will you do one on straps? how to use them optimally? For me straps make it harder to lift, forearms fail even earlier >.< thats why i never use them

I wouldn't say weird, so long as you progress with that your doing it right :) i.e. less assistance then none and then some weight for the same number of reps and form.

Neither did I, but trust me, a natural bodybuilder on a solid split like yours CANT get TOO big arms in comparison of the rest! You talked about dropping direct biceps work in the past and I would highly recommend not doing that ;-) Best proportions for bodybuilding are still achieved with few isolation movements :)

SURELY it's common sense. SURELY?? You even used dumbbells ffs. You know the BIG hole in the middle of plates right? Well the chain fits comfortably in there, so there's absolutely NO CHANCE of the weight falling off like it could when you put it around a dumbbell. SMH. Oh and to avoid it coming loose like yours was, put the hook on the two circular bits attached to each side of the belt. By doing that, it keeps the belt tight to your waist and won't come loose. Although I suppose that depends on the size of the individuals waist. But man... Maybe I should make a 'How to use a Dipping Belt' video and get 50k views because it feels like people need to be shown how to do even the simplest of tasks.
