Anika, do you have a video that explains the correct positioning of pocket holes in order to ensure a strong connection? I've learned that if you drill the screws in the wrong orientation you create a weak connection but the explanations are not very clear to me. Thank you

Thank you for a clear instructions, just one thing when swopping from one thickness of wood to another you make the adjustment on the dill bit, BUT such a simple question, do you have to use different length screws to suit?? The other thing is for people that are not in the USA is there a metric version of the 320. The USA is the only country in the world that still uses imperial, so quant.
@Anikasdiylife
@Anikasdiylife 4 ай бұрын
Agree about US being weird with using imperial. I grew up with metric and after 22 years in the US I still adjusting to imperial 😂. Yes. You need to use a different screw length. I believe there is a metric version available.

If you wanted to use this for a 1” piece of wood is it possible to set it to 1.5” & use the 1” piece of wood with a scrap .5” wood piece? Would that set up the pocket holes correctly or would it be better to find an R3 model since it has more thickness settings?

What is the DeWalt tool model do you use in your video? I have an impact screw drive, but it's not what you use, right?
@Anikasdiylife
@Anikasdiylife 3 ай бұрын
It’s a power drill/driver. An impact driver is not recommended to use with pocket hole screws because it will end up overdriving the screw and you won’t get a strong joint

If I am using my Kreg 320 jig for drilling pocket holes in a piece of wood with a thickness other than 1/2, 3/4, or 1.5 inch - such as 5/8 or 1 inch; how do I determine where to place the collar on the drill or the stops on the jig. I noticed that I cannot set the stops between the given depths because the indents will not secure the stops from moving. Should I use the indicated stops for the thicker or thinner material. i.e.: use 3/4 inch or 1.5 inch indicated for drilling in material that is 1 inch thick?
@Anikasdiylife
@Anikasdiylife Жыл бұрын
Always use the thinner wood thickness setting. There's a chart in this post that should help! www.anikasdiylife.com/use-kreg-pocket-hole-jig-video/

Hi there Anika, I am needing to drill a pocket hole on a 2X4 on the long edge. How can I get the drill to drill thru the middle part of the edge? i am making a long stretcher to connect to table legs. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as its my 1st time (frustrated as I've tried many different options)

1” boards are actually 3/4” thick. So use the 3/4” setting. It is always a good idea to measure the boards to ensure they are the right thickness because there can be variations
