It's a good video to watch. The Best way to get use to a clutch is to practise off road and check wear the bitting point this could be different on every motorcycle pending on wear and tear I could be wrong but practice is key off road would be a good place to start

I did my first CBT a week or three back. And I just couldn't get the balance at all. Yet put me in a Land Rover off road and I can balance clutch and accelerator to the finest degree in the most precarious of positions and places. I think I would need another day or three's practice. I am going to be a scooter bod, it's my only hope.😀

So it's basically the exact same concept as in a car, you just need to get the feel of it using vastly different muscle groups on the controls is all. You'll get there with more practice in no time, and eventually be able to ride a geared motorcycle for hours on end and then hop into a manual car and drive without a hiccup.

OMG I have watched so many other videos about learning to ride and its all a much of nothing about little and a bunch of faffing or empty space watching the presenter ride around with zero useful info (plus the first 30% being self promo). This on the other hand is great. It assumes the watcher is smart and curious - like how a transmission actually works. I like that it is filled with info and true, useful demo Thank you.

pulled the clutch when off throttle allows you to coast, not pulling it will allow engine breaking which slows to down but it is always good to also use brakes

Good video. I've been riding for over half a year but... an automatic lol, it's a totally different situation. I think I get the gist now :P Tho I took the test in '15 and stalled it a bunch, and failed too.. i'm taking it soon and I hope I pass this time around... without any ahead-of-time experience.. that time was my first time handling a bike so.. I mean I can make sharp turns and all that, I just have no clutch experience. But it seems easy enough. The gear shifting on the foot is something I forgot and sounds odd.

Thanks for the video, it was helpful for building my confidence. I've had a CBT for about a year, just passed my theory and looking to go for my full licence. I had a conversion day a while ago which went really well but I noticed a bad habit I had built up of relying too much on my back break to stop when pulling up to lights etc. I was literally pulling in the clutch and coasting, then using back break to stop - terrible habit! I've been practicing using engine breaking (while tipping on my back break to kick in the brake lights) and then front break but I keep stalling the bike. I'm wondering if I'm pulling the clutch in too late when using my front break. Any tips of when you should be pulling in the clutch when stopping. I want to break out of the habit of pulling the clutch in and coasting, but now I'm leaving the clutch too late! Any tips from anyone welcomed :) Is pulling the clutch in too early something that you would be penalised for in a Mod 1 or Mod 2 anyway?

Without seeing you ride I can not say what the issue is, but I can give you this link to my Tips for new riders playlist. I have multiple videos about riding the bike, downshifting and slow control that I think might teach you a bit more so you can work out where you are going wrong. As you know you do not want to be pulling the clutch in and breaking as you have so much less ability to slow down. kzbin.info/aero/PL-ow7a_42PpS4RoPPNeBgQ3oEagBWT9Ey

hi Spicy great channel love your videos, I am a new rider, 5ft 2 and 62 years young I passed my test in October 22 in uk and got my new bike cb500f 2023 in January (back ground info for you) 😂 I have a question if you don't mind answering it or pointing me to one of your videos that you might of explained it already. i have noticed when i am up shifting i hardily move the throttle if at all.. i don't think I've had my rpms over 4000 it all seems fine but!!! maybe you understand what's happening. not sure if i am over thinking things and thought you might be able to shed some light on this for me. Not been on a road yet to do over 50miles an hour as concentrating on the other things first.. i do go to parking lot to practice emergency braking and figure 8s about once a week and do slow riding in traffic.. any help would be grateful received from you or any other bikers watching your great channel something i have observed in my riding thanks for any input you might have Kev

I recently watched a video by some other utuber that i initialy rejected untill i tried it . The vid showed how to have better clitch control by using only two fingers on the clitch lever and the other two behind it or that is ,on the handle bar .couldnt believe the difference , how much more control it gave me .however its been pionted out to me that a motorcycle riding tester may not accept this .interested if you would have any insight into this .
@spicy110
@spicy110 8 ай бұрын
The test bike you ride will likely not have short levers, so you would need to use the whole hand. Just do what works best for you on the bike you have at the time. I can have an much control with all fingers off.

I did my CBT with some cheap Amazon gloves, a borrowed jacket, regular jeans and some sturdyish work boots. I bought a cheap helmet on the course, which, as it tuned out, was very good - I still have it. After the CBT, I realised I quite liked bikes after all and went to buy one. That’s when I bought proper gear. So my advice-do your CBT before you spend money on gear. Alternatively let me give you a shopping list so you can sell to me at half price if you don’t like biking.

@@spicy110 in which way can we burn it?
@spicy110
@spicy110 Жыл бұрын
@MongkulBoreyKH it doesn't literally burn like a dry clutch. If you drag a wet clutch it will get very hot and damage the friction plates. Also, the plates can get "glazed" This means the surfaces get a coating on them that will slip easily. In light cases, this can be fixed by sanding the metal friction plates.
