How to Use a Number Path

Number lines should not be used before 2nd grade….Say WHAT?!?!? Yup, instead it is recommended that kids use Number Paths.

Hi Christina, Is a number path something that 1st graders can use within 40? I have some students that are struggling to transition to the open number line, but as I look for resources and examples, I can't find anything to show the use of a number path with larger numbers.
