Great job! I am a kindergarten teacher and rekenreks were just given to us this year. This really helped!

Love the videos but was immediately "caught" by the "wreck 'n wreck" name for the math rack. The Aha! moment came once you revealed it came from the Netherlands. A "rek" in Dutch is a rack in English. "Reken" in Dutch means to count in English. So literally translated a "counting rack". Dutch vowel "e" is pronounced the same as the name of the letter "a" in English. So "Reken" + "rek" spoken would pretty much sound like RAKE 'N WRECK to those unfamiliar. Great videos, thanks.

Interesting. In Hebrew and Arabic we read right to left, but do math left to right. I wonder how our kids would perceive the rekenrek? Hebrew is my second language, not my first so I still perceive the beads the way you are describing.
