Living in an apartment used to require paying for laundry in the building, but no more! Check out my Costway portable twin tub washing machine along with my Panda 3200 RPM laundry spinner. No water hookups? No problem! With a little bit of extra effort, I can do my laundry at home and save beaucoup dollars. I give both of these units top rating. Now if only somebody would create a twin tub washer with a Panda spinner...
Everyone's setup will be different depending on the layout of your space, but I hope that you can get a sense of how mine operates and figure out a solution for yourself.

@NietteR huh? No I used to wash them at my girls place or MY families place lol. Nothing wrong with that. Lots of people who don't have access to a washing machine do laundry where they can. If she lived with her family I am sure I could wash them there since we get along really well and help one another out. Doing laundry at someone's place isn't a strange thing. A lot of people in college or live places with no washer/dryer often do their laundry at their close family and close friends places. Not everyone is fortunate to have their own washing machines, and many apartments don't come with them.

Awesome review! Probably the best I've come across. I've been also using a portable machine for the last 5 months. I usually wash, spin 1 min, add spun clothes to fresh bucket of water, then spin again for another 4 mins and then finally let them air dry. I am always very paranoid about my clothes having soap in it even though I add very little soap. I am afraid to add fabric softener thinking it will not fully come out of the clothes. I'm gonna give it try!
@shangaosurprise

It sounds like you have an outdoor space that you don't mind getting wet. I wish I had more space to move around and an extra pail of water to rinse clothes, but it would be too messy in my apartment. With fabric softener I dilute a small amount into a bucket and then rinse as normally. A little goes a long way. I also don't obsess about getting one hundred percent of the soap out of my clothes. For the amount of time, effort and water to give it a third or fourth rinse for that last trace amount of detergent, I don't think it's worth it. Happy washing!

Good for you! No more having to get rolls of quarters, and sit in the laundromat only to have gas dryers burn your clothes. I just bought a Panda spinner after seeing videos, even though I have a conventional washer and sryer at home. I spin dry my expensive white dress shirts and hang them on hangers to dry. Also, spinning the other clothes means they take less time in the dryer, which saves $ on the electric bill and makes the clothes last longer.

My twin tub just arrived this morning. For me, the spin speed in the dryer gets things dry enough. I have an LG washer/dryer combo (not the stacked unit, one that’s the size of a washing machine but does both) so I’m used to my clothes being a little damp at the end of a cycle. I’m waiting on my repair guy to get parts for the LG, but I’m really liking this twin tub for now.

Great to hear! Everybody has their own needs. For me, I was running an airbnb and so I needed the sheets to be dried really fast. This past year I've closed the business and so I haven't been using the panda as often. If I ever do get a dryer I will go back to using it because it will cut down on the energy consumption significantly. It's much more efficient to dry dew-damp clothing than it is damp clothing.

It still leaves things with too many suds if you do it that way, so they’re never fully rinsed. Best course (and what’s recommended by the instructions) is to wash, spin, rinse (either in spin tub or xfer back to wash tub), then spin again.

I have a shower head on a hose. I actually purchased a longer hose so the head reaches my washer. No bucket needed as I can just put the shower head in until the washer tub is full. Easy peasy. For those who feel like the labor is too involved, I personally have never done the spin before the rinse cycle. My laundry seems to rinse quite well without that step. You’re right. It’s soooo worth not having to use the laundromat. I especially love the ability to do a tiny load.

I would suggest that lugging it around into a hotel might be too much unless you were travelling by vehicle, in which case it makes perfect sense. A travelling salesman with this in her trunk would save loads of money on hotel laundry fees. You can even set it directly into the bathtub and the water flowing under it is safe due to the electrical components being raised several inches from the bottom. It is designed to sit on a wet surface with no danger.

With your setup, there is probably no need to drain the water after the first load (you could add a little more water and detergent if needed). Just put them in the "rinse spinner" and add more towels to the existing wash water. More efficient and you can keep it moving since both the spinner and wash side can work at the same time.

I bought a really big one 2.5 years ago and it's great. I can wash and spin a queen size comforter in it. The comforter barely fits in the spinner but it does. It has a pump to drain it though, not just a gravity drain. I bought a smaller washer because i really don't need one that huge. It's nice for my comforter, but i ended up buying a duvet cover so I do not have to wash it that often. So I figure i can wash the comforter in the laundry we have here at my apartments when necessary. I also have a very small electric dryer. It's about half the size of a regular dryer. But i usually just hang everything on a rack to dry it. My spinner actually works very well to extract the water but idk if it's because it's bigger. Im not sure what to expect from the smaller one i just bought. It hasn't arrived yet. I think it's about the size of yours.

@shangaosurprise
@shangaosurprise 3 жыл бұрын
The laundry is dew-dry afterwards. The spinner has a 5 minute timer after which it automatically shuts off and so it wouldn't be practical to continue to spin it, as well the instructions note that it shouldn't be used continuously because it will burn out the motor. There is also a limit to how much water that gravity can pull from the clothing. Finally, hanging it increases the surface area significantly. The clothing remains bunched up in the spinner which prevents it from drying effectively.

@@shangaosurprise I think my comment disappeared. So, I’ll explain one more time. I never got the twin tub washer. And, at some point I might get one. But I have limited space. However, I did get the panda 3200 RPM spin dryer and found it to be the best things that I ever bought in recent times for anything regarding laundry. I use it when I wash clothes in the bucket by hand and also after I wash my clothes in a portable washer that has a 800 RPM spinner. I still use the Panda 3200 RPM spin dryer as well. My clothes is spun out so well that my clothes can hang dry with a fan blowing on them in around an hour. And I also recommend it if you’re using an indoor portable dryer because it will cut your dry in time in half. I think I might actually get another one if I see the price is right. I noticed that at one time I saw that RCA came out with a 3200 RPM spin dryer, but it didn’t look like it would hold up as well as this one. Recently, I noticed that ninja also has come out with a 3200 RPM spinner. I might try that one out sometime. Would you please subscribe to my channel, because I am going to upload some laundry videos which will highlight the spin dryer. And also, I want to thank you for inspiring me. This is got to be one of the best videos I found and the most helpful. Thank you so much. UPDATE: I just added a video highlighting the Panda Spin Dryer on my channel. Also, I bought an insignia portable washer. Going to set up a video on that as well. That’s another story.

I give it a minute or two to fully sink in and saturate the clothing and then spin it out until it is dry enough to transfer to the big spinner without making a mess.

A tip from my mom that give to me if you want better result: 1. prewash your clothes with clean water first, this will remove most bigger dirt & grime, also allow salt from our sweat that caked on the fiber dissolved. all you had to do just put on wash tub and run for 2-3 min. My mom do this to every clothes & fabric, but to save water. start from cleanest clothes to the dirtier, so you don't need to refill the tub each load, just change the water if the water too cloudy. 2. before washing, especially for bed sheet & towels, soak the clothes first with detergent & water before washing, and you not need allot water, just make sure the clothes is soaked well & the water detergent is very soapy. With current detergent formulas, 5-15 minutes will just fine based on my experience (if really dirty & smelly, I soak for 1+ hours); but my mom soak it for over night in big buckets. after soaking, then you can do normal washing routine, and use new water & detergent, do not use the one we use for soaking. if you want, you can add oxyclean/sodium percabonate on water detergent mixture. I did this and my clothes come out really clean. My mom also recommended to soak clothes with softener for few minutes before rinsing, allowing the fragrance seep deep to the fiber, but I not fond use softener due waxy feeling on certain fabric.

If you run the spinner twice, depending on the type of fabric you have in there, it won't make a difference in the amount of water coming out. The Panda extracts more water because of it's speed.

It's a bench, and it was custom made to go with a dining table set. Any sturdy bench or short cabinet or set of drawers should do. The key is that it is sturdy, as the machines create vibration and can rock back and forth when in operation.

@shangaosurprise

Between the two tubs there is an emergency overflow. I just filled it up high enough so that when the spinner was activated it would barely flow over in order to minimize water waste. So just fill it as high as possible if you have a full load until you hear the water start to pour between the tubs.

I'm a little confused as to why there is an extra step? So wash, drain,RINSE IN THE SAME TUB, then spin dry. Unless you're wanting to do multiple loads at a time, the separate spinner inst needed.
@shangaosurprise
@shangaosurprise 4 жыл бұрын
The separate spinner is not necessarily needed, however it spins so well that it cuts down on the drying time significantly. It can also hold multiple loads and so if I have more than one on the go it allows me to speed things up.

Is there a water max line? & why do you add water to the spinner also?
@shangaosurprise
@shangaosurprise 2 жыл бұрын
The hose that came with the machine doesn't fit onto standard faucets in Canadian homes. This is the same product that they sell overseas and Asia and Australia so perhaps their faucets are different. I add water to the spinner because that's what a standard washing machine will do during the rinse cycle. While your washing machine is spinning it will add water to the spin in order to extrude any remaining soap.
