I bought the Franklin 150. I’m trying to hang some thing in the corner of a wall. All nine lights are coming on and the last ones at the ends are flashing. What does that mean? I’m not talking about the lightning bolt ones.

Thank you for not using a mic for this, I might have actually wanted to hear what you were saying... I have this stud finder, and it works great at letting me know there's a stud somewhere in the wall. But it doesn't tell me the CENTER of the stud. How am I supposed to figure that out? Where do I put my pencil marks if I want to be dead center on that stud? The LEDs are too far spread and don't line up with any of the measurement marks.

Hmm, I would suggest using something called “common sense”. You locate the edges, measure the distance between them, and divide that number by two!

Don't buy it , it will not lasts!!! The tactile switch wears out in them in a few months , my second one just shat the bed. Pisses me off, but hey it comes with a cute little pencil.

@@zjomamma1904 Thanks for you response. well.....I bought it. It “kinda” works. But not enough for me to trust it confidently. I’m going to return it. The video this gal put up shows a pretty ideal framing situation. There are too many variables out there. Honestly I was hoping for something that would save me a lot of time. But it takes time, experience and skill to understand how to find studs...and then even you can only be so sure. Again, too many variables as to what’s behind that wall! Gotta do your due diligence.

As I was shopping for a studfinder I watched reviews and was surprised at the poor performance od most of them. Is the technology that difficult?

There is not one of these products that are going to be fool proof. Not intended to be. They just market this stuff, make their money and go to something else to con you into buying next year.

Conventional stud finders have 1 or 2 sensors. Franklin Sensor stud finders have at least three. The higher end models have 13. What is the value of more sensors? More accuracy. Fewer false positives. You can start over a stud - which you can't do with most stud finders. No calibration is required. You just press and hold the button and begin scanning.

@@CuriousKL It sounds like you have had some disappointing experiences in the past. I'm sorry about that. But we do stud finders. Period. And we are the best at what we do. I think trying our stud finders would add a bit of positive light to your day and restore your belief that there are good, honest companies out there who make good honest products. I WISH YOU HAD NAMED IT MARY'S STUD FINDER. COS WHEN I TELL MY HELPER TO GO GET ME THE FRANKLIN STUD SENSOR YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT HE WILL BRING BACK.
