Thank Alix, picked up my Weishi 1000 also. Having issues with a Citizen watch with Miyota 8210 movement. Turns out amplitude was all over the place. Watch under warranty, sent it in for service.

Interesting tutorial. I can see the rate readings in the dial up positions on your timegrapher. How does that compare to your “real world” accuracy. Meaning how does it perform day in day out on your wrist, and possibly off your wrist overnight?

I find on the wrist it works best, which is why I usually measure at the end of the day after I've been wearing it. I must admist I don't track off-wrist timing.

Cool! How long do you keep the watch on the machine until it is done? Kind of like cooking an egg and knowing when to remove it from the skillet and on to your plate.

I usually let it sit for a few minutes to settle down, then look at the numbers.

@@TalkingTimepieces thank you!!! This is very helpful. Once complete, do you simply accept the rate that shows up on the screen? Or do you take all the number readings that popped up and calculate for average?

@@nastehoomar500 I don't try to be perfect, I just use ut to get an indication of watch health. For example, you could measure your blood pressure 3x a day, and some do, but as long as I know my BP is within acceptable limits I'm happy.

@@TalkingTimepieces perfect, great example. Thanks so much! My mind just over thinks it.

Sorry for the noob question, but this instrument is only for measuring, and not "fixing/adjusting", right?

Yessir. It will tell you everything, but you have to act on it

I keep seeing these No. 1000 Weishi devices listed under all different names online. Any idea what the actual manufacturer is? I wanted to pick one up because my Explorer seems like it might be a little off. It’s still under warranty but I’d like to know if it needs to go in for attention before I turn it over to my AD (they don’t even have a timegrapher and they send it to their jewelers shop offsite). I figure if it’s running poorly I can go in and tell them exactly what it’s doing. Thanks

I don't know who makes them, but they are pretty accurate. I do like mine.

Most tmegraphers are made by the same company, I just got mine on Amazon for about 200 bucks

The watch needs to be fully wound to give consistent results. An amplitude below 250 may simply mean the watch is not fully wound.
