I bought a fs70r a couple years ago after watching your videos about and even took your advice on using the .080 line on it. I've always enjoyed using it and it's made me plenty of money. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience throughout the years. I hope you keep putting out content for years to come.

Welcome back. I thought I would mention the Stihl you have there along with any Stihl models ending with 1, like 91, 111, 131 etc are actually a 4 stroke or 4 cycle engine. Stihl calls them 4-mix. In essence a 4 cycle engine that runs on Premixed fuel-oil. They have valves but no crankcase with oil as typically found in conventional 4 stroke engines. Also the KM variants are the Stihl Kombi systems where the F series are Fixed one piece strait shafts. Peace
@DansVlog2 жыл бұрын
Awesome info! Thanks bro. I did a few maintenance videos tuning up and adjusting the valves on my 4 mix 100 a few years ago. I prefer 4 mix low rpm high torque trimmers over the whining screaming 2 cycle engines.

Happy your family life is good again and I am glad you are back making videos. I tried .080 line a few years ago after watching your video. Didn’t think it would make that big a difference. You said the difference is between a butter knife and a baseball bat… the reality is it is more like a scalpel vs a baseball bat. I run an echo PAS225 and I almost never go much more than half throttle because it cuts so easy under normal conditions. I was so wrong about the different line size.

The RX has a lighter weight gear head and a lighter solid yet hollow inner driveshaft. R = loop handle, and X = lightweight version. I replaced the old motor and clutch on my 100 RX since it was such a good trimmer. A 400 speed feed also lightened up my RX even more and reduced line breakage at high rpm. I also have an 85R I'm almost done restoring.

Good to see you back on KZbin I just acquired a KM91R with strait trimmer attachment for FREE. It’s broken but I am going to try to fix when get time. I have sent some of your trimmer videos links to others trying to learn how to use a trimmer. They think I use a edger on my yard but I tell them I use a string trimmer and I learned from your videos. For now I use a 25cc Murray m2510 by MTD yah cheep but fires up all the time on 5th season now. Only replaced bump knob x3 and throttle cable x1. I use only Non-ethanol fuel with full synthetic 2 cycle oil I also have a trash picked Troybilt split shaft with bought a $5 strait shaft attachment at yard sale for longer reach when I am Handling brush. On my back hill into a rain run off location

That guard also keeps your line the proper length. It’s important to keep your engine from getting too hot.
@DansVlog Жыл бұрын
That’s hot garbage. The length of your line is just because the manufacturer doesn’t want to have to warranty the clutch, the shaft, and the gear head so they make the line so short there’s very little resistance. If you’re running the shield with 17 inch line and you’re using allowable 105 line, that is going to have far more stress on the unit than if you’re using .080 line at 19 inches with no shield… don’t be a lemming. I NEVER burned up a shaft, clutch, gear box or engine.

I HIGHLY recommend the Stihl Kombi system. I had the 90 model engine. I recommend going more powerful to ensure your head unit is strong enough for all the attachments you may want to use. A 90 limits your options but is plenty good for the trimmer, edger and headgear trimmer attachments

@DansVlog9 ай бұрын
😂 Name calling is so very smart! You honestly think the shield protects anything? That is what is stupid. A false sense of security. I broke a window behind me said no one ever… the shield is cosmetic dressing installed by manufacturers to reduce potential lawsuits from operators who don’t know how to control their line.
