Hey Jason, I removed my mulch kit off my 72" diesel grasshopper today. So glad I did. No more overheating due to clogged radiator due to dust. Hopefully no more rust under deck, lost power was restored. I have been a huge advocate for mulching Bermuda over the years, but it was becoming a hassle having to stop an clean radiator pre screen every 30 minutes. Just though I would share.

A lot good tips . If you are on a slope and have a roll bar you should be wearing your seat belt it will save you life in a roll over !!! I know of a teenager that was killed on a ZTR mowing it rolled over and killed him . This was before roll bars , after the incident Toro started putting roll bars on ZTRS . You should not leave the keys in your mowers. This is true I met the boys father at the mower shop I use . I Know seat belts are a pain, bouncing around the cutting into you I don't wear them on flat ground. And be aware of people & vehicles when mowing our ZTRS will throw items a long way. Sorry for the lecture that boys father that I met was very emotional and I will never forget it . Y'all be SAFE out there and have a great mowing season !!!!! Thank you Jason for your informative videos !!!

H B 0 seconds ago I just purchased the 75750 only for my home. I couldn't believe it! I almost landed on the street on a decline! I used it for 1.7 hours being very careful operating when I turn left to go back it just slides like ice down the hill. Our yard is mostly flat except for the front with a slope of more than 10% in front that I tried to stay away from. I was ready to jump off to the left. I locked the brake quickly thank God no damage! Also, the lawn was dry.

I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. kzbin.infoUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

I’ve pretty much abandoned making circles around trees and poles, at least in open fields. I make a half circle on one pass and same thing on the next pass. Sometimes it leaves some extra trimming work depending on where the tree was positioned relative to the mower, but avoiding full circles lowers the risk of tearing up grass and for me personally, it also keeps my lines straighter. It would drive me nuts how my lines would always have a kink in them from coming out of that circle and not being perfectly oriented anymore.

Whats the best way to mow my septic mound with a zero turn mower?
@n40tom Жыл бұрын
As far as moving things sometimes I have to move a big round bale of hay ( about a thousand pounds )that the farmer that cuts my hay drops the bale into my cutting area . You have to start pushing it with your front end but then you start climbing up the bale and you have to back up and keep doing that unto you move it out of your cutting area. It is a little tricky but also satisfying when you get it done. Take care and be safe

Talking about string trimmer hacks. My brother was using my trimmer and noticed he could bog the spool down by simply pushing it into the ground. He said his trimmer was powerful enough you could not do that.
@andrewb21112 жыл бұрын
I might suggest pre-positioning your front tires during turns to avoid spinning them in one spot. My front tires leave more dings in a lawn than the back ones ever have.
@RANGUIDRY Жыл бұрын
It looks like you're missing the round knob to bypass the hydros. On yours it's the carriage head bolt just aft of the label telling you how to release it. After loosening the knob you need to reach under the engine deck and pull back on the lever. Thanks for your channel Jason.

Hey Jason! I'm just a homeowner who recently migrated to a Toro Timecutter 42 and have experienced pretty much all the problems you are helping us with. The very first time I cut with the Toro I ran close enough to a tree that I damaged the grass chute. So, I bought a new one and put it on and had noticed my neighbor using bungie to hold his open while he cut. I started doing that which in most situations is fine. But, the mower throws grass with so much force and because I overseed winter rye in the back yard I was throwing grass clumps on my truck and the vinyl siding all the way up to the roof. It is crazy! Talk to me about that chute blocker! Did you have to fabricate it or can I buy one for my Toro?

Sliding down a hill... if you have hills and/or slopes to mow, like I do, you could do what I did... get a ZTR with a steering wheel. Being able to steer the front wheels improves the grip when going across slopes. Speed... my max speed is dependent on the smoothness of the yard. I replaced my old ZTR with a Cub Cadet Pro Z 100, which has a suspension seat. That thing is a game changer. I can mow way faster on the Pro Z than I could on my old ZTR with no suspension. There are a lot more areas now that I can go full speed. Dispersing clippings... if you mow at proper intervals, most ZTR's will discharge clipping at a sufficient speed that rows of grass clippings will not form. Stick to the 1/3rd rule, and you'll never have to do anything with clippings.

Just some insight to add; never operate at full throttle unless PTO is engaged. On the same token, never engage PTO at full throttle. Always half throttle. Doing otherwise will wear out belts and pulleys faster than you can say 400 dollars. Also 3 point turns are a MUST especially on soft turf.
@5stardetailingllc471 Жыл бұрын
Gravely suggests to ALWAYS engage their PTO at full throttle, and I even questioned the maintenance dept where I bought it from about that request, because I’ve always heard what you just suggested.
@musclesmurf85289 ай бұрын
I would advise any operator especially less experienced workers not to do a reverse cut. Safety first for you and then also unsuspected pwrsons around. Much safer just to go to the point of where you would have reversed to with the blades off then start the cut only in forward drive. It may seem to take longer or is more cumbinsome but you absolutely can see whT your doing with out teying to peep or turn your body while operating. Same result in the end with the grass away from the structure, or in alot of cases the road.
