Are you as skeptical as I am about using amp modeling and amp simulators?
In this video, we go over some tones in Ampire and see if they sound as good as a real amplifier. We also talk about some advantages and disadvantages of using amp simulators over tube amps. #Ampire #StudioOne6
Thank you Joe Gilder @homeStudiocorner for Ampire effects chain.

Ampire might not be the best amp sim out there, but it's really not very bad at all. Further, you can purchase the High Density pack which comes with 3 extra amps. I use Neural DSP but I also use Ampire... I'm glad that I have both.

Hey, thanks. Yes ampire is good considering it's all in the box.

can you play through the amp without having something pre recorded? Meaning can i play through instead of my fender mustang?

Yes, absolutely. Just plug your guitar straight into your audio interface and put Ampire onto that channel.

Which version of Ampire were you using? There’s a free version and others that have more pedals and amps to choose from

Hi James, I am using the studio one professional. There may be more pedals I could download.

I purchased Studio one in an attempt to use the virtual guitar amps in Ampire but It's just not giving me any good guitar sounds. Do you have a very basic, very beginners, never used software of audio interface instructions on how to load and play with the guitar amps in Ampire? I really need help.

Hiya, interesting video, going to revisit Ampire and see what I can do. However I've just done a quick setup and I can see you have the same problem with the CPU useage that I have. It regulariy red line and then you get the dreaded clicking and blips. Is it a Studio One issue or do you or I have our settings all wrong. Would be good to get some feedback from Presonus and maybe John on how to deal with this.

Did you notice clicking or blips in my video? I didn't notice them but let me know. In general there are two ways to adjust the clicking blips in the CPU usage under preferences. Did you know about these?

hi @@MillerMusic. at about 2:30 I can see your CPU red line with maybe a small click. I have the same issue with Bias FX2. nothing i've tried in the CPU usage seems to make a difference,

I see that now. I think that happened because I was switching amps while it was playing. I normally don't have too much of a problem with this. Part of it I think depends on the computer processing power and ram. I usually set mine to minimum drop out protection and 512 block size if I am mixing. Sometimes when recording I'll drop down to 256 block size.

Cheers@@MillerMusic will have a play around with the prefrences, if not I may have to look at my CPU. I have a pretty good system but it may be time for a CPU and motherboard upgrade. The one I have doesn't properly support the M2 SSD drive I have. Plenty of RAM and everything else. It's only the amp sims though, everything else is fine.

@@McCnutty cool good luck! I think Ampire does take a little bit more CPU than the other plug-ins.

Thanks for the comment. I believe the artist version has the Marshall amp and cabinet. Do you have any pedals with that version?

Ampire is my favorite plugin software amp sim by far because it has whey lower latency than all the other ones. Presonus rules!

thats not what its for. Ampire/Studio One is just for preproduction and its awesome for that because its quick and light and does not introduce alot of latency compared to other amp sims like amplitude which have bad latency. If you like your amp thats great. and should have something equally great like Avid HDX systems to record it. I use ampire in studio one for preproduction and laying down ideas. For pro production i use either a real amp, Kemper or an Axe FX 3 into Avid Omni/HDX card into pro tools HD Ultimate.
