You could also just enable Linux and install Audacity and record directly to it using your usb mic.

Can you please include links to the apps you're talking about in the description below? It would be a great deal more helpful. Or screenrecord yourself downloading the software and setting everything up instead of recording a video of yourself.

You show me audacity, cool, I have audacity, you show me another recording software, sure. No where, do I see where you switch from using the internal mic to an external one.
