The future of CarPlay wireless according to Apple is going to be over wifi. There is not enough bandwidth over Bluetooth to do it because it is streaming the hole user interface.

I just bought a 2011 Tundra and on the steering wheel there is a dedicated button to activate the factory Toyota hands free system. Have you guys had any luck programming any of the steering wheel controllers (like the Pac-audio models) to uses the factory steering wheel buttons to specifically active the Siri Eyes Free?

Yes get the Pac-Audio swi-CP5. You can program it for that feature just fine.

Not sure about volume, but song play functions and searching for songs, yes. Especially if you have Apple music. It works like a charm.

hi, this is definitely a useful video. I have one question though. Can we activate siri eyes free without touching/pressing any button. Just like we do with the the iphone. I own a iphone SE and in that I don't need to touch or press any home button to activate siri. Even it does not need to be plugged in like older iphones. Please reply. Thanks..

If you have one of the newer Pioneer NEX models with Apple CarPlay the "Hey Siri" hands free feature SHOULD work. Although I've had mixed results so far with my AVH-1300NEX.

Instead of touching the head unit screen to activate voice, can voice be activated from the Bluetooth steering wheel controls?

fdurdenc yes, most steering wheel controls give you the ability to program a button of this feature. We us PAC- Audio and they all do.

Great videos, they have been very helpful! Thank you guys. I am still trying to decide if the AVH-X5800BHS will work for my needs. I have an Android phone and I don't plan on switching to Apple. I do want a stereo that allows me dial my contacts using my voice (no hands) and to perhaps launch music stored on my phone or via Spotify using my voice. Does this stereo support Googles similar Google Now Search using Android (much like Siri)? Does this stereo support using your voice to dial on Android at all? Thanks!

It does do voice for calling, but nobody ever has it on when we setup their radios. I have never seen it work because of that. Do yourself a favor spend the extra money and get the 4200 with Android Auto. You will be way happier, it will do all the voice stuff you want.

Hi, is it possible to use this with the push to talk button on the steering wheel instead of using the radio’s screen? Also, is it possible to use the factory’s mic, aux input jack and usb with these type of radios? If so, could you give me some advise on how to do so?

+Jonatan Contreras yes you can program one of the steering wheel buttons for voice. No on the factory mic. Yes on the other 2. Check PAC-audio. Com for parts

I love ur videos but u guys missed a big how to on this for siri eyes free. Since 2015 u dont have to touch anything for calls,text,directions,or music via carplay or even simple bluetooth on an iphone using hey siri.

+Don Evans it is not made to do that. You can ask Siri to read them to you if you get one, that is about it.

This feature is already built in the iphones, the phone needs to be charging and you say put load hey siri and siri will come up.. but it's nice to have it on the radio
