Would it not be more effective to locate the vehicles recirculating vents and load the product in that area so that it would run directly through the aircon system? or is there a reason why this should not be applied in this manner?

4G93tGSR This is just how the product was designed to dispense and work. It is not designed to be loaded directly into the recirculating vent.

Hi 4G93tGSR, this is exactly why I personally do not like these "bomb" style cleaners. I'm sure the product itself is very good, but the delivery system is poor. On many cars the recirc intake is high up behind the facia and so the product has a hard time reaching it and actually getting into the system. Also on many cars, the air taken in by the recirc vent still passes through the pollen filter so product gets trapped in the filter and never reaches the evaporator.

@@CycloneCyd It would be best to do this at the same time as replacing the cabin air filter. Remove the old filter, cut away the filter material and clip the remaining plastic part from the old filter back in. Use the Autogym product then replace the plastic part with a new cabin filter.

I bought 2 of these today and both are faulty products. Instead of seeing atomised fluid coming out of the can, there was a stream of fluid. I can't tell if the fluid is effective on bacterial since it didn't circulating through aircon vents.

Please excuse my ignorance especially if this may have been covered already by others, but why isn't this sprayed directly into the aircon vent? I have tried two of AutoGlym products in the past with excellent results and I am keen to try this one as well, but I need to be sure it is the right product for what I need. My aircon gas is fine but it oozes a not-so-fresh air out of the vents. Our other car that's newer oozes air from the air-con vent that's just pure and heavenly. I know i may not be able to get it to smell like brand new, but i want something that'll be close

Sounds like the product for you. Use as directed and you will be fine. It isn't sprayed directly into the vent, as that is not how this particular product is designed to be used. Some products of this type are used that way, this one is not though.

The air for the air con system is generally drawn in via a vent in or around the foot well. We position the can here so it is drawn in to the system and then blasted out via the face level vents.

What if the car doesn't have the cabin filter in the passenger footer-well ? Do you still need to point the can at the same place, or the middle of the car should do?

If you want a middle of the car type product, use the Anti-Viral Car Fogger. This is a sanitiser that kills bacterial and viruses.

What does it smell like?? Does it sanitise? I’ve had equivalent product from Halfords and it made my car smell like cheap gone off aftershave.

Smells of lemon/citrus, does not sanitise. We recommend Air Con Sanitiser for a sanitiser or Anti-Viral Car Fogger for a whole cabin sanitiser "bomb".

Does this product kill bacteria as well? I understand you guys used to sell 'Autoglym Air Conditioner Sanitiser' as well which was advertised to kill bacteria and disinfect the AC system but has since been replaced by 'Autoglym Air-Con Cleaner'.

No, Air Con Cleaner does not kill bacteria. Air Con Santitiser was withdrawn some years ago.

Leaving the car On and exiting the vehicle , Wouldn't the car doors get auto-locked?

Possibly, that would be model specific. Often it is just when the car starts moving. If you know your car auto-locks that is something to be aware of.
