The bail-making pliers didn't come with instructions, but I found your tutorial. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I just bought a pair exactly like this and was looking for videos of projects to practice. Agreed, needs to keep in view of the camera. The one I bought was from JTV Jewel School. They call it the Wrap & Tap as you can also hammer your wire while it's on the pliers.

Sorry about not staying in frame. This is an older video. Hopefully I’ve gotten better since this one was made and that you got a little bit of something out of it. 🙂

If one is going to demonstrate a tool, the tool and work needs to be visible. Not only is the work not visible, but the instruction is not stated, and does not flow well.

Hi, do you know if there's a difference in quality, performance, or comfort, between beadsmith and eurotool wrap n tap pliers?
@SandyHuntress7 жыл бұрын
Hi Dee, That is an EXCELLENT question, and I wish I had answers for you. Unfortunately, these are the only ones I've been able to purchase. At some point I may get the Eurotool and do a comparison. For now, I'd suggest you search reviews.

Wrap n tap looks more versatile and better built but I'd bet the comfort level is the same. You can use short sections of flexible hose tubing to increase the grip comfort of your pliers. Just cut a section of tubing from an appropriately sized piece of tubing and slip it onto the handle. 👍

What to do if the wire is too strong to bend with your fingers?
@SandyHuntress3 жыл бұрын
Use tools or a softer or finer gauge wire.
@2kBofFun3 жыл бұрын
@@SandyHuntress I just push it against a piece of hardwood, as tools damage the bend item. Overall the tool does what I need it to do. Mine did not come with a silicon sleeve, but it does not seem to put scratches on the material. Without the sleeve the grip is better as well, you can get a wire by the very last end and still bend it.

+Sandy Huntress Oh, how unusual--don't think I've ever bought pliers before with plastic sleeves on them!! Thank you!

You can also use different diameters of various types of hose material (ie. garden hose). Just cut a short section of appropriately sized tubing or hose and slip it onto the end of your pliers. 👍

I was thinking to put on some self-adhesive felt sticker.

Impossible to see what you're doing when you're working out of camera shot. Plastic sleeve is intended to be left on pliers. It will eventually wear out. You can order replacement from manufacturer of the pliers or go to the hardware store.
@fredflintstone52084 жыл бұрын
Or you can just use a section of hose tubing having the appropriate diameter. You could likely find it under the hood of a junk car for instance or take apart a broken Mr. Coffee coffee making machine. Theres tubing inside those things yup

Hi Sandy. Love your videos. I am new to jewelry making. I purchased the exact same bail making pliers you use in your video and they work great for me, but I've noticed a lot of people use bail making pliers that are rounded on both sides. Do these have a different application than the ones with the flat side?
@SandyHuntress7 жыл бұрын
All that I can think of it that the other side of the pliers might provide a madrel that is yet another size. If someone knows differently, please correct me, but I think both types work just the same way.

Pointless video if you are making a manoeuvre with the pliers and we can't see that. Your movement was out of view, so all we heard was a bunch of words essentially. The video needs to show what you are 'actually' doing!!
