Here is a tip from a pro bead wearer. Fold the bottom part of your hair in half (the whispy part that isnt braided) and it will be easier to feed to bead through the rest of your hair.

It is not weird at all for a man or woman to use hair beads. Styling hair & dressing it up in different ways are a beautiful way for people to express themselves & their personalities. Most people can see that as “lame” but I think expressing yourself creatively through finding small hobbies such as these is a beautiful thing.

I love your hair tutorials. My hair is shoulder length and I would love it if you made a video with beginner styles for shorter hair. I've seen a few on your channel and they came out super amazing. I would love to learn more styles. Also I really enjoy how many of the styles are fantasy and tv inspired. Thanks so much for all you do!

Back in the day we used foil. Just foil from the kitchen will keep beads on.
@Sk0lzky5 жыл бұрын
I use pliers or even fingers. Squeezing a tiny bit makes it super easy. But just using really tight ones is more than enough, you can slip it on a thick strand of hair by using a floss trick (wrapping the strand with a floss and holding it in mouth or one hand - if you can slip it on with only one, will keep all the hair close together. Then you just pull the floss through and voila, bead's secure)

i shove the beads up til they are stuck ... it’s horrible for my hair probably but it works. been doing it for years my hair is already damaged i can’t tell a difference.

I have a brass beard bead. I can't remember where I got it from, but it has 4 Mjolnir's on it. Sometimes I braid it into my hair using a bobby pin, like threading a needle. I'll put the bobby pin around the hair and then pull it through the bead. Not the best way, but it works.

Instead of elastic bands I use a cotton thread to sew the hair at the end of a braid, and I put the beads on while I braid them (inside the braid itself) or on top of the braid, securing them with a couple of stitches.
@TheDivera2 жыл бұрын
I would like to see that on video. Never did it before and don't know how to do it.
@synergy-vd7dm Жыл бұрын
What type/size of thread and what type/size of needle do you use? And what type of stitch? Would love your insight!
@Anna-fw7lm Жыл бұрын
@@synergy-vd7dm Cotton thread and small needle from my sewing kit. I make a small braid, put a bead through one of the three strands, keep braiding (you can add beads where you want and how many you want. they're not gonna be centered but they're not gonna slide or fall off neither). When I get to the end I use a cotton thread, I tie the two ends of the thread together and I make a slipknot to use it where I want my braid to end, then I circle the end of the braid quite tightly (making that part about 1 cm long (0.3 inch) and then I push the needle between the strands of hair and threads, randomly. It's almost like making a summer bracelet and then sew in between it. When it becomes hard to 'sew' it's time to cut the rest of the thread unevenly (I keep the longest part in the needle) saw another time (if you knot without this passage, the knot is gonna slip away through the hair at one point) and then make a knot with the two ends, and cut them short. It's very efficient, it stays for long and almost disappear if you use the same color of your hair. With silk it's gonna be even better and more resistant. You don't need a thick thread for it. The type of stitch? Just stab the 'bracelet' portion in and out of the other side, as randomly as possible without making a mess (and keeping it tight....not to the point of crushing the hair XD) The best part is that, when wet and full of conditioning, hair are gonna get slippery but the wet thread is gonna swell like a garrote, so it's not gonna get loose, even if you try to pull it down (don't ). I use a thread cutter to free the braid. It's simpler to do than to explain. It's the most unprofessional thing ever XD but it works and it looks good. One time I added at the top of the braid a little loop with a fine chain necklace attached, then included it to the thinniest strand of hair and just braided it. I locked the hair at the bottom and I was very satisfied with the result. I had it behind my left ear for weeks and very few noticed because it showed only when I was puttin up my hair.

@@Rebfancy it turns out it wasn’t a video, but there’s another picture on her Instagram. Each “braid” is a strand of loose hair and two small three-strand braids. Apply beads as you like, and then wrap the braids around each strand, twisting once before wrapping again. There’s a better picture here, as well as an angle of the rest of the style: instagram.com/p/71YXQQupqM/? which has two of those wrap braids on the right side of the head, overlapping fishtail braids, half loose, and a normal detail braid on the left side.

+Ares I know it sounds silly when framed like that. But the reason is twofold - garner interest for this bead shop, and I want to send beads to people I know will really use them :) you don't need hair heads specifically for this, you can get creative with non-hair materials to get the head hair look. I used to do that all the time before I had lots of hair heads, like I've tied buttons to hair, used hoop earrings, etc.
