The first big braid is a lace braid? In can't quite figure it out. I have short hair, long enough for a gross little stub of a pony, so yeah

I'm so curious and desperately needing a above the head shot. I got to two and a half minutes in and I'm stuck. I think there is aid that can be provided from a top down shot. Thank you for sharing this! Def extra inspired to creating different changes to my hairstyle and braidwork. You are killing it!

I wonder if they used postiches and wigs to achieve that, because it is hard to have and keep long hair.

First of all, you explain really well and the hairstyle is beautiful, but look, I know the video is old and I'm not that best at replicating movements with my hands, but if you see this, could you make a video explaining better how to make twists? I also struggled to visualise the side braids so would it be possible to show it from another angle to see better? Again, beautiful hair, wonderful video, its just that I really struggled trying to make the first steps ;-; I hope someone could maybe explain in another way too? Idk, it could be also the language barrier but anyway :v

Supremely helpful! Definitely will be using these styles to upgrade my hair in my role as an 1870s re-enactor for 4th grade students on field trips at our old "rancho" museum in Southern California. Over the years I've watched numerous videos, studied old fashion plates, and read many articles and your suggestions, "Silvousplaits", stand out as three of the best, achievable, and most authentic. You're a a great teacher and an engaging videographer. Thanks for doing all the homework for us and making it easy.

Thank you so much! I’ve been fighting my hair for years and really the only thing it’s good for is braids but they also keep my hair from tangling. I wanted to see what my ancestors did with their hair because my hair is not like other girls and won’t do trendy hairstyles. It may not seem like much of a triumph for some people to get their hair into these styles but it was for me. Thank you again for sharing them!

There’s a Danish book called Wikinger - it’s a step by step guide to authentic 20 or so viking hair styles, men and women. Might be worth having a look at for more tutorials. Most involve some French braiding. Only issue is it’s all in Danish so I’ve spending a lot of my time studying the pictures. Your tutorial help explained some of the aspects I wasn’t too sure on. Thank you.

I love this gorgeous hairstyle I really like how you make an effort and you show me slowly what to do. When I saw some other video they were way too fast I couldn’t see the braids because the fingers were in the way blocking my view., I really like how you explain step by step and your not in a rush, when I can see how the fingers work and what parts of hair to braid thankyou.❤

This is my absolute favorite channel to do copycat styles from and I really wish you'd come back. 😢One of the things that goes along w/having to hide from everything & everyone (Covid is still a thing) is I haven't been able to get a decent haircut in YEARS. I keep my ends trimmed, but I need a good cut & style which I can't go get. Having hair as long as mine isn't normal and it's a pain in the ass. It's 2024 and women simply don't keep hair this long anymore. It's a hot ass mess. But thanks to your channel, I get to look halfway decent and feel (and pretend) that I don't look a mess. Lol I've already told my husband that once this shit passes my ass I'm making him help me shave my whole damn head. So maybe another year I;d say before it;s time for that. I hope you still check your comments from time to time and PLEASE come back. Lots of things on House of the Dragon that I'd like to see tutorials for. ❤
