I took cerave blemish control cleanser.cerave blemish control gel.and cerave retinol serum these three for my oily skin and I have some acne on my face. Now which one do I use when? Which moisturizer is better for oily skin.

The blemish control gel contains glycolic and salicylic acid which exfoliate the skin, so I’d recommend skin cycling with these products. In the morning just stick with a gentle cleanser and moisturiser, then in your PM routine rotate between: Night 1 - cleanser, blemish control gel, moisturiser Night 2 - cleanser, retinol, moisturiser Night 3 - cleanser, moisturiser The exfoliation from the gel will allow the retinol to penetrate more on night 2, and taking a rest day from active ingredients can help your skin recover. Using both in one day could lead to irritation and more breakouts, but after adjusting to the actives the rest day might not be necessary. Edit: also, both the gel and the retinol increase photosensitivity, so be sure to use sunscreen!

It leaves your skin more sensitive to the sun. Make sure you fully cleanse in the morning to remove the retinol from your skin. I always recommend a physical sunscreen regardless if you use retinol or not :) It will help protect the skin and reduce wrinkles/fine lines and hyperpigmentation

Ik this is such an old comment but i want to warn others! if you don’t use proper sun protection when using this product then it can lead to a sun rash-especially around the eye area since the skin is more delicate. It’s kind of like a sunburn but also comes with severe itching, burning, and peeling. It took around 3 weeks and a round of steroids for me to come back from the reaction i had to Laroche posays retinol gel. I mistakenly rubbed sunscreen away from my eye/neck area and that led to the burn.

No, there’s no risk. CeraVe creams are light and not very irritating. You should be fine. I think I have more sensitive skin than average. I had teenage acne, and a facial injury allowed it to spread until I was 34. I started a skincare routine at 34, using the CeraVe Anti-Imperfection Routine at night and an oily skin routine in the morning. Now my skin is much better, and even some micro scars have disappeared, including one above my lip that completely vanished thanks to the stretching of my skin. You can go ahead; if my skin survived, yours will too. However, skincare is a marathon, not a sprint. I started seeing noticeable results after 4-5 weeks. Two years later, my skin is perfect, no more pimples.

Before using a foaming cleanser or a CeraVe foaming gel, apply a cleansing cream to perform double cleansing. This optimizes skin cleansing and better prepares it for the application of your creams and treatments. The ELEMIS Pro-Collagen cleanser is excellent for this.

@@sinandemir7453 It's hard to know when we haven't analysed your skin or know your full skincare routine. But it sounds like you experienced purging when you started the cleanser and now after 4 weeks you skin is clearing up. I would wait to introduce anything else and see how your skin goes. You can incorporate the retinol, but I would only do this 2 x a week to slowly introduce it. You also need to be careful not to over exfoliate your skin as this will lead to an impaired skin barrier which can cause more problems. So If you do incorporate the retinol, I would try using a different cleanser without acids before hand (just on the days you use the retinol) Opt for a lightweight gel moisturizer (no need to continue to add more exfoliating ingredients if you are already using the blemish control cleanser and retinol, just over doing it and will strip your skin) Hope that helps!

Yes you can use the cleanse first, followed by the retinol serum in the evening. You will need moisturizer to lock in your skin hydration and protect the skin. Sunscreen is a must when using retinol as retinol does make your skin more sun sensitive. Find a moisturizer suitable for your skin type, and same goes for face sunscreen :)

Hello I bought the CeraVe renewing retinol from a local store and the texture is different from the video on KZbin. It’s pure white and milky but on almost all videos it looks like it’s off white and a little bit thicker than mine… does it mean that mine is fake?

If you bought it from a local store it shouldn’t be fake as they should be a stockist of the brand. Consistencies can vary. Patch test first before using x

The Cerave Renewing retinol does have a different consistency then their Resurfacing retinol (the one in this video)--from what I've seen in other videos that compare the two. I've seen a few dermatologists on KZbin say they prefer the resurfacing retinol.

You can do the sandwich method where you apply moisturizer, retinol and then finish with moisturizer again.

Yes. Actually you can mix moisturizer with retinol, it doesn't influence the retinol. Or you can apply moisturizer after 15 mins

Hey there, yes unfortunately CeraVe don't state the % as it is their own formula, they have stated that information regarding the function and percentage of specific ingredients in their products is proprietary. However it is a great product :) but I understand wanting to know the %.
