Very well explained! Thanks! We are in the loop of deciding between sticking with Trello for our contact management, going with a basic but genuine CRM like HubSpot Starter or Zoho Bigin OR jumping on the ClickUp Train.

@@dsha2006 A lot of people love Trello, because it is so easy to learn and because of this a quick way to set things up, but if your workflow needs anything more than a Kanban view, you need to look for alternatives. After further comparisons of different productivity softwares, we decided to go with SmartSuite which has many of the same capabilities as ClickUp, Asana and Monday but with in our opinion a more user friendly interface and excellent customer onboarding, support and community.

@@thomashartmann5037 thanks for the message. I'll have to check out smarsuite. So many platforms! I can't handle Trello once multiple boards are introduced and especially when there's any complexity like assigning checklist items insides of a card. You can't see them unless you open up the card. I tried their list view but it was so basic. Does smartsuite have the email from task feature that CU added recently? I think that feature is a game changer! haven't seen the ability to send AND receive email right from the Task on any other platform...allowing you to document your work and communication all within context and witihout copy/pasting emails...or in the case of some CRMs that save emails with a gmail widget, it doesn't just make a sloppy storage of your emails that take forever to review.

@@dsha2006 As far as I’ve been able to find out, ClickUp is the most versatile player in the game of productivity apps, but the downside of the overwhelming number of ways to set up and tweak it- is complexity, which in our scenario means to much time in adaptation, before seeing boosted productivity by using CU. The same reasoning can be applied to Notion.

Thanks for the webinar. Everything explained great and relaxed:-) I have been using clickup for over a year, but only for a few minutes a day. it is exhausting because I often lose focus because of the fragmented display. For example, I added the field "email". But, I can't access my contacts app right away? That's crazy :-(

I came across a related issue that has a solution for both.... I am trying to import a CSV contact list, and the fields at first gives you a text field with presets to map, then you can confirm this mapping. After importing I am presented and stuck at a second mapping field screen, but this one has a dropdown with very basic options, email , phone, and few other fields, also Custom field as a option to select, yet no ability to Customize the Custom field. It doesnt even have First Name Last name, and such. What happened to the mapping I did before this? It somehow ignored it. The import for Contacts can use some clarification. BTW, a very clear presentation video. I learned a chunk watching it, yet my anticipation to find a solution to my issue was not part of it (Importing contacts). One thing you mention has me thinking; "Contact = Task". So each contact is a Task. I will try and Import into a Task(?I guess). I also went to the help location...using search words "import contacts", it had 142 hits, yet NONE about importing contacts. Using a CRM, I would think importing and managing contacts would be top of the list on How-to videos. I look forward to one including this. Once I get over this hurdle, I will be able to do what you, the OP is asking. Maybe a template that has a import feature where it needs to be in order to map contacts correctly? Also, a tempalte for contact fields from other CRMs, or sites like Constant Contact, etc. (looks like you have it for Hubspot, which I dont use). ...That would be a big help.

Simple Q: When importing contacts and mapping fields....What is suggested to map the required field Task Name with? I was thinking email, as it would be unique, or last name, yet there will be multiple dupes of a last name. Thought I should ask, as I don't know the way it uses the Task Name field in the processes of managing a CRM. (Yes, rather new to Clickup, and its my first "task", to see if I can use it as a CRM.

You can also send e-mails in a task. The problem is: a respond to that email will occur in that same task, but it is not a trigger. So: you will never get a notification on that email respond from customer. And you will not be able to automate that if an email respond was send the task will move to another status (such as: OPEN). In other words: there is no convenient communication in tasks possible, as all responds to your email will be kept very hided in tasks. No notification possible.

Hi, what about data backups? I want to use clickup in our business but how my crm data will be saved in case of something really bad happens? Manual export is not an attractive solution.

Great question! 🙌 At the moment, scheduling your own backups is not available in ClickUp, but it has been requested before. You can add yourself as a voter to this feature request if you'd like to see it implemented in the future! bit.ly/3MaByu4 We backup data constantly at controlled intervals to ensure there is never a loss of data even if a database was to become fully corrupt. ClickUp's data is stored and synced in real-time in eight AWS regions around the world. This ensures that if any catastrophe occurs, there is no risk of permanent data loss! If Clickup CRM (or anything else) really wants to be a "single source of truth" then it needs to upgrade the advanced formula functionality to be able to calculate things with your data. Otherwise you will always need spreadsheets or Airtable to keep track of critical things like LTV.

In this example, what would be the difference between a "Lead" and an "Opportunity"?

Great question! 🤗 A "lead" is a prospect that has not yet been qualified, while an "opportunity" is a qualified lead that is a likely sale.

29:56 stinks that you have to manually link the client to the opportunity. Isn't there any way to automate that? This is a typical CRM feature.

Manually adding relationships is ridiculous, this is a deal breaker for using this tool as a CRM.

People can't use clickup as a CRM for now because the relationship feature is not properly supported in the API (no filters...)

Click 'Show/Hide' in the upper-left corner of the menu 3. Hey again, Diana! We confirmed with our team that all of our videos should have Spanish subtitles available. To access them, click the settings (gear) icon in the lower-right corner of the video, then choose "Subtitles/CC." Next, select "Auto-translate" and choose Spanish from the list of languages. If you do not see "Auto-translate" available as an option, first choose whichever option ends with "(auto-generated)" and then the "Auto-translate" option should appear. 🤗
