I am really learning so much here! Thank you so much! I am pretty much a beginner to all of this! I do have a goal however to one day produce my own song. I am tired of paying people to do it. I think also if I could produce my own song, I can have more influence over what happens along the way. It seems like with producers, I'm always going back and forth with mixes!

thank you so much for making this series! i’m fully self-taught with production, and having an in-depth specific process/workflow to follow for mixing is SO helpful. i’ve been using these in real time to mix my friend’s album! very grateful for the wonderful content :D

Great series! I have one amateur question: When you are mixing/mastering instruments - you put Equalizer, Compressor, Limiter. Are you puting those on whole instrument track? Or maybe there is possible to use different equalizer/compressor settings in different moments of the track? For example: from 1 second to 80 second you use different equalizer/compressor settings and from 81 second to 300 different? Does it make sense, is it common?

Nice ! Will check your other vids on compression. As its nice to have a with/without in case compression is wanted, it would be nice to hear examples with/without when it s not needed. xo

Love your tutorials. But can you explain why most ableton producers create their tracks in Arrangement view with individual samples? I use session view and track my compositions as one whole sample. Is there an advantage in doing it arrangement view vs session? Please explain. Thank you.

Hi Elena, great course, really needed as well because there are not many practical ones around for starters. Quite some experts advise to first compress, than EQ (e.g. Bobby Owsinski). Mainly also because if you amend the EQ later on for fine tuning, you also need to amend your compressor settings again. you follow a different sequence in the course. What is your general view on that? Thanks for all your efforts!
@LNADoesAudioStuff2 жыл бұрын
Hi it's Liina ☺️ Glad you liked the course! With EQ and compressor, there is no right or wrong ways to use them, just as long as you know what your intention is :)

Why do you make a point of displaying a guitar, but then you use a sample of a simple guitar line from Splice?

So I'm using your course to mix a song of my own. When I put the compressor on, everything is so quiet that I can literally hardly hear even with my computer volume all the way up. I have my faders set to -12 dB. Am I missing something. or is it ok for the volume to be this quiet while I'm mixing.
@LNADoesAudioStuff2 жыл бұрын
Yes so the key with compressor is to make things quitet. It does gain reduction, which you need to then balance again with the output gain of the compressor. Also if things get tooo quiet, consider if you are compressing things bit too much. ☺️
