Just found this and hope to try it in our next session :)

I wish this did track hit points. It would make it so much easier and faster to track everything, but this is the best thing short of having actual rules and character sheets in the game.

TaleSpire does kinda track hit points. When you right-click on a character, you'll see a bunch of popups bubbles. One bubble stores two numbers -- I use these for current HP and AC. They're intended for max and current HP.

I'm having trouble getting this to work, and there's no support pages anywhere that i can find.

Yeah, TaleSpire is a very new and niche VTT, so there's not a lot of information out there. Here are some common issues I've seen with my players: Make sure you have any other extension that modifies D&D Beyond -- like Beyond 20 -- turned off. Make sure you don't have anything blocking browser extensions, like antivirus software. Modifying the game files of TaleSpire may cause issues with Beyond the Spire. I can try to help you out, but I don't know much more than I put in this video. You can message me on Discord at adamTwright#5989.

@@adamtwright thank you sir. I managed to get it working. It doesn't like it if you have the game up first, then pull up your character sheet. Seems like letting the Extension launch your game does the trick.

@@glb190 Yep, that'll do it. Best of luck in your future games!

Is there away to get it to immediately roll in talespire rather that having to click dndbeyond, then talespire, then roll?
@adamtwright2 жыл бұрын
Yes, but probably not in the way you want. You can hit the spacebar to bring up a line of dice near the bottom of the screen, but they're just dice -- bonuses from your character sheet won't be applied. TaleSpire doesn't handle any ttRPGs within itself; it's almost entirely focused on visuals.

Does anyone have any experience with Talespire? I use Owlbear and Dnd Beyond, and I'm not sure if there's a point to using Talespire other than the look of it. What are the advantages, and are they worth the extra effort? It looks great, but what else is there?
@adamtwright2 жыл бұрын
TaleSpire is a niche VTT largely focused on visuals and a 3D environment. It doesn't have better game system management Owlbear Rodeo. It's not for everyone!
@voldlifilm2 жыл бұрын
@@adamtwright Thanks! It does look really cool, and as a person who loves drawing maps I'm very tempted to give it a shot, but at the same time that's a lot of money to pay for something my group probably won't use.
@lemuriansettler Жыл бұрын
@@voldlifilm Give it a shot! :-) It's a delight to build in and you can get thousands of free maps via TalesTavern - Plus they've introduced Symbiotes now, the first form of official modding for the game. This opens up for integrating better with other systems etc. I'm not an expert, but I love building in TaleSpire.

Does this require installing mods?
@adamtwright2 жыл бұрын
Nope! It only requires using Beyond the Spire, an extension for the Chrome or Firefox web browser. You don't need any mods in TaleSpire, and Beyond the Spire takes about two clicks to install.

Shit, don't work on opera and I hate 5e don't have nothing for old 3.5e?
@adamtwright2 жыл бұрын
TaleSpire doesn't use any game system within itself, so you can just forget about the extension and use TaleSpire's in-game dice to play any system you'd like, including 3.5
