Watching this particular video I suddenly got to thinking about something, and hopefully you guys will do a future video on the topic. Being left-handed, I've often wondered if the left-handed Aikidoka is at an advantage or disadvantage (vs. a right-handed Aikidoka) when taking on the typical (i.e. right-handed) opponent, given that a right hander is more likely to strike with the right hand or leg than the left. In a boxing match, we are very much at a disadvantage in that we use our strong (left) hand to block the opponent's right-handed punches, leaving us to counterpunch with our weak (right) hand. 😬

Because uke is in the toros or the energy flow and cannot keep up with the turning movement but if uke does punch then that energy can be controlled in the opposite direction causing serious damage. attackers detriment.

1:45 Yes we live in very dark days, but honestly if a thing like in Austria happens again: sorry, no chance against a machine gun! You just RUN and you dont stop running until you get out of the danger zone and can alarm the police. And if they shoot around, you run in zigzag like a rabbit and disapear between the houses or bushes or whatever is there, but you get the heck out of there and dont try to sit and hide somewhere nearby, unless its a house entry with a solid door you can lock from inside. Dont try to hide in a shop or restaurant because they usualy have glass windows and are easy to see/shoot through. So the best thing you can practise is running very quickly on high speed or parcours if you have the phyisical strenght.
@TheStewart26014 жыл бұрын
But if you can't run, or you puff out easy, best to use your energy to defend yourself, rather the wasting it on running
@msxy95944 жыл бұрын
@@TheStewart2601 People that do such things like in Austria will not come close enough to you, to give you any chance to touch them! They will stand a few meters away, walk by and just shoot everyone they spot. Quick moving/disapearing targets are more difficult to shoot down. Its way different in a street fight with a normal person: man to man, but not in a terroristic attac! If such a thing happens on a street, best option is still to run into safetey, (if you have the possibility). Everyone can learn how to run, and if I can manage with my heavy asthma, everyone can.. its just a matter of deep breathing technique and its learnable if practised a bit (for example with jogging). Of course: if you're wearing high heels in such a situation, or if you're an old person walking on a stick or if you're with small kids its a very diffrent situation. Honestley: theres never a perfect solution, but the badest thing you can do is, to sit and hide and wait for them to walk by and find you. If such people are capable of killing weak defenceless women and children, why wouldnt they shot someone thats sitting hidden in a corner or hides in a restaurant or a shop-floor? That would be like in the horror films when the victim runs upstairs instead of outside and hides in the closet or under the bed.

One thing all martial arts gott to learn is the feeling of pain for its here you can lose if you get punched so Remember Train your Pain level for in a fight there is always a chance that you well get hurt Best regards Danny 🇩🇰

When you deflected the first punch you missed an opportunity when you punched your attacker in the ribs. A spear - hand to his right arm pit (up into the shoulder joint) could have made his arm useless with less damage. Your attacker's second swing may not have happened, take what's available.

personally, I think the aiki principle of aikido is impossible to be implemented by using aikido move. if it is qinna or bajiquan, it is still in make sense area, but aikido? no. the thing is, all of aikido skills are using opponent's fear of joint break to make them stay at the position we want. but, not all people on the street care with their arm going broken. if you meet this kind of people, you lock his arm. but they still force it so he can releasing the lock, what would you do? if you are not ready to hurt someone, you would releasing your lock slowly, and after that he would do what he want to you. martial art is a weapon without weapon, you need to be ready to hurt someone if you wield it

i wont use 'dark' aikido. one of the fundamental tenets of aikido is 'protect your attacker'. only to be used in life/death circumstances. a chop to the neck should do the trick.
@toddellner52834 жыл бұрын
Ah This is what my teacher calls "fighting with contempt." You are so sure of your superiority that you can always be in complete control and aren't in any danger. In the chaotic world of people who are trying to hurt you it can get you in serious trouble. I choose to have some respect for the damage someone can do and try to stop the situation as soon as possible. The assumption that a shuto strike to the neck will connect and automatically drop the bad guys is also a not a good one, but if you can make it work against, say, someone with a bull neck or someone who knows to keep his hands up, then more power to you.
@chrisschmeitz11394 жыл бұрын
