Mine are future fears of getting old, being alone and losing family members. I suffer from major depression and generalized disorder and I am in EMDR for help but hoping that it works. I also spoke about past trauma and that has helped. Next week I am having emdr and these topics. I hope it works.

I'm an EMDR basic trained provider, seeking cert. I'm giving a presentation on EMDR soon, college students - so focusing specifically on test anxiety and procrastination. I was thinking I would talk about standard protocol or present trigger protocol for the test anxiety part, and then procrastination protocol. I really appreciate seeing you talk about this so I can have a model for myself! Also, curious if you are on EMDRIA?

Hi. Sorry I did not see your comment earlier. No we are not on EMDRIA as they are not actually a legal authority over EMDR- they are more like a therapist directory. Would you maybe want to work with us to get published?

Hi im agoraphobic. I dont know my root cause but emdr helped me a lot already with my panic attacks. Im just scared of panic attacks when doing exposure and living my life. Any advice?

Virtual EMDR (or expensive therapist guided EMDR) can really help with this. You just need to get "in touch with the fear feelings" during your EMDR session, OR focus on the last time you had an agoraphobia incident.

You hit the nail on the head for me! Everything you said is true. I have tried the program and it works. My situation is a fear of court results. Even after the first session I already noticed a difference. I just want you to know how much many of us appreciate you and your efforts in these videos. Your dedication and effort does not go unnoticed and I truly is helping more people than you realize. Also, in order for this to work people MUST learn to do it correctly. This works just as intended if done correctly.

Thank you for your amazing comment and I cannot agree enough!!! In order to get great results from Virtual EMDR, you need to read the instructions and do what the program says.

Can it help with severe driving anxiety? With no traumatic event that caused it.

Yes, it really works well for this in fact. Go ahead and imagine yourself driving while you use the EMDR and then when you do the actual driving you will feel much better.

Thanks for the video - it’s really helpful. Would future emdr work for general desires such as “always feeling safe in the future” or “never feeling anxious in any social situations” or does it need to be more specific?

No, that will work just fine. Imagine yourself being at imaginary social scenarios while using the EMDR. It will be very helpful.

Absolutely. When you do the Desensitization portion of your Virtual EMDR session you can focus on the anxiety you feel about the social situation.

Can EMDR help with hypochondria, health anxiety? I’ve had sessions with a therapist to help deal with past traumas, and it has helped quite a lot. My major life-ruining issue now is health anxiety (thanks media), and I’m hoping EMDR can make a dent in it.

Yes for sure. You just need to use this health anxiety as your Target during your session.
