There's another option to make the "TRUE" or "FALSE" invisible. While the suggestion to make the font color white will work in general, if someone highlights the cells in a color (such as red or gray), then the white font would show up. Instead, go into "Format Cells..." and change the format from "General" to "Custom" with the custom format being 3 semi-colons ;;; The cell will still have the TRUE or FALSE value, but the text will be invisible regardless of font color or highlight color. P.S. I always enjoy Leila's videos on Excel

@@kuntito Leila discusses this in her video kzbin.info/www/bejne/qni8aGOpmdWUgsU Quick summary. Custom format for positive, negative, zero numbers and text are separated by semi-colons. If you don't give it a format (before each semi-colon) that means do not display anything. Text is the format after the 3rd semi-colon.

That is a LOT of work for something so simple as a checkbox. Very surprised MS hasn't added this as a design feature yet.

yes, this a LOT of problem. I want to use table on Onenote, but when is big table it's unusable because you can't copy and paste. At the same time, Excel doesn't allow you to checklist, so it's like: Microsoft are you stupid? You want us to use your tools but you won't let us.... . Google Sheets does have this option but the problem is that it doesn't have the zoom option when clicking, so it's also frustrating. I still wonder how it is possible that Google and Microsoft do not take these things into account. Be patient and we will find it! If someone reads this and finds it, please reply.

There is other videos where people created a Macro to create all the checkboxes for you that are already dynamic! I created 1189 checkboxes in just 10 seconds!! ;)

I'm still wondering how come MS hasn't implemented a feature like this by this time. Checkboxes in MS Excel are not simple to create and handle.

Had a dauting task of updating a conditional formatting heavy checklist created by a former colleague. I've been taking online excel classes thinking it will eventually get to what I need to know to edit the checklist but I lost patience as I really needed a fix sooner than later. By watching this video once, I have a better understanding of the functionality of checkboxes and conditional formatting that I was able to figure out the fixes I needed. I am using only check box Formatting . I never used filter option to see the balance tasks. I used to see balance manually. That filter option is saving lot of time to see the balance tasks. Thank you so much for your wonderful and complete automation suggestion. It is saving a lot of time for me.

Very nice! Tick boxes in google sheets are Dynamic though. Way easier than editing each cell separately! This is 2021 Microsoft!

Can you show how to put a check mark in a cell and it places today's date of action in the very next cell? Where would today's date be placed within the sheet for the dynamic affect? Your videos are awesome, I use them to train my staff all the time. You're a great trainer. Good voice and steady flow of instruction so its not to fast or too slow.
