How To Use Fixative for Your Pastel 2

I use the same fixative and love it! I use it sometimes several times on one piece and it allowes me to apply more layers of pastel. I’m newer to pastel art and know it darkens the color but it helps me at this stage of my pastel paintings.

I want to choose a fixative for graphite portraits and have been googling and watching youtube videos. Many people say The Krylon workable fixative causes a painting or drawing to darken. Others say that the only fixative that does not darken pastels or graphite drawings is the expensive Lascaux fixative. You are a master painter. What do you differently to prevent the Krylon fixative from making your painting colors darken? I noticed that you shielded the face on the portrait from getting much of the spray. ... joyce
