great Video.... can you filter your contacts using 2 labels ?? Meaning 25 contacts have the label "Family" but 12 of them have the label "Family" and "distant Family" So you want a subgroup without making a new label, and that subgroup is all the people with "Family" but not "Distant Family" ???

Really good info. Nice explanation when it comes to differentiating between Gmail and G contacts. Also noting the name change from Groups to Labels. Once that was explained as you did - the rest was a piece of cake. My PC didn't recognize GC to get to the contacts but that was no biggie - just as easy to select contacts from the group of apps on the side. Thanks for the clear explanations. Much appreciated.

When I go to compose a new email and type in my Label name into the "To" section of the new email, all the email addresses for the contacts in the Label group appear... In previous versions of Google contacts, I used to be able to bulk paste an list of email addresses into contacts and add them all to a group. It appears that feature has been removed, do you know of any way to recreate that feature?

I finally found a workaround! Take that bulk list and paste into a google sheet, export that as a CSV file, import that into contacts (export on the bottom left if you scroll down) then you can change the name of the label from "import 10/24" to whatever you want it to be. when you go into your gmail, it will pop up :) takes less than 5 minutes as opposed to individually entering each label

I am using this to share information with family. Placing all the emails in 1 label/group to send 1 communication is what I am using it for. This can be up to 200 emails in one label/group. Although, I heard from some family members that the email went to spam. I am hoping continuing to send the email communications out using Gmail will eventually stop emails from going to spam for those individuals - unless you have another suggestion other than to put on the email please check your spam. I just wanted to also let you know your video was very helpful... Thank you

I have used this feature and love it EXCEPT that sometimes a contact has more than one email. How do I create a group so that only the selected email is used? For example, I recruit people. I will have a personal email for them in my contacts, but if they become a part of the organization, they receive a company email with the org domain. I want all future emails to go to only the org domain email. However, it wants to send to all emails on file for that contact. Make sense?

Each contact created has a default email address. So if that contact has many different email addresses only the default email address will be used. If you want to change which email address you want to use with that contact just go into their contact and change the default email.

@@brookewitham2978 That's easy. If you have more than one email address for the same contact then when you enter the persons name both email addresses will come up. You simply select the email address that you want to use and you don't have to go into contacts. Try it and see.

Google contacts on my phone (android) has a menu bar to the right side where I can click on the first letter of the name and bingo- I am instantly scrolled to that section of Contacts. On my iMac I have to physically scroll and scroll to get to the "R's" for example. Is there a short cut here that I am not aware of?? Thank you for your help. Can you add Multiple e-mails, lets say from a google form as many as 300 to a label easily? I was able to do this with the old version of gmail. Google labels for contacts do not work on mobile. This has been my number one complaint to Google forever that their labels for Google contacts only work on the desktop. I have only found one email program for Android that will take advantage of Google contact labels and that is Aquamail. I don't know about for iOS.

Dragging contacts into the label or clicking multiple folks at once is much nicer than adding one at a time.. I do have another question. Previously when I wanted to delete someone from a particular email, the list (40+) was in alphabetical order. It was easy to find the contact. Now it is jumbled. I have no idea why it changed or how to change it back. I would appreciate any advice you might have.

Is there any way to create nested contact labels? For example, I have clients in company A, that are organized as multiple sub-teams AB, AC, AD. I created individual contacts, none show up as duplicates, I took 14 of them and put them into a label (group). When I hit my label name for this group to email them, several of the contacts show up as duplicates (like 10 times or more). When I reopen the individual contact to see what went wrong I see that the email has somehow been duplicated inside the contact info. I delete the unwanted duplicates and Save my changes but when I try to send my group email again.... the same errors show up (duplicate contacts show up). Can anyone help me with this feature. I correct it manually right now by going through and unchecking the duplicates but it's time consuming, goes against why I'm using labels (groups) in the first place. Thank you, Sandra

This is way more difficult than the old way. You say it's simple to be be productive, but how do you add in 25-30 to a "label" when you have 1000 contacts? You used to be able to just copy and paste the names easily. Now trying to find the contacts to click a box is such a time consuming feat. Anyone have any tips how?

Scott, I need you to help me solve a problem with Google Contacts. As you know, the limit on Google Contacts is 25,000 people. However, the limit on LinkedIn Level 1 connections is 30,000 and I maintain 30,000 Level 1 connections on LinkedIn. What do I do to get my extra 5,000 people into Google Contacts? Do I have to upgrade to G-Suite? Does that mean I have 25,000 in Google Contacts and 5,000 in G-Suite? Or, do I have all 30,000 in G-Suite and avoid Google Contacts in Gmail all-together? Plus, I want to sync my total number of LinkedIn folks from Google Contacts or G-Suite over to my CRM for management purposes. What is the best way to manage big numbers of people?

With G-Suite, you could enable the domain-wide Google Apps Directory which would increase your Contacts limit to 50,000.

When I follow the steps, I can't see my new label (group) in any of my google apps besides contacts. When you demonstrated the use of your labels (groups) in other apps, you used previously created groups rather than the new label you had just created when making the video. By any chance did you forget a step showing how the new label can be seen in gmail, calendar, etc? I can't tell if it works for you either.
