How to Use Hyundai Smart Cruise Control and Lane Following Assist

This video shows you how to use the Smart Cruise Control ( Adaptive Cruise Control ) and Lane Following Assist on a Hyundai. I recorded this video on a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 SEL, but these instructions should work on a 2024 or newer Hyundai Kona, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid, Hyundai Sonata, or Ioniq 6.

Yes…question ? How to turn both cruise and lane assist off while still driving. Is there an easy way to turn both off at the same time?

They are separate systems. Hit the brake pedal to easily cancel the smart cruise control, and the button with the car in between the lane lines to cancel the lane following

I have a 2025 Tucson and it has the same problem as @IRbent below. If I am wearing sunglasses, the cruise control shuts off! Exactly as @IRbent below. Anyone have a solution? The dealer shrugged. Maybe in the next update they will fix it. It's a definite problem on a long trip. Also, what is the "Hold OK Settings" mean when selecting the car with lane lines on the cluster? What does it do? How's this system vs a Honda Sensing system? I have a Honda CRV sport touring and was wondering if the highway and lane keep assist system is better or worse. I read a lot of comments of people saying that honda has a better system but would love your thoughts.

Having driven several examples of both systems, I think the Honda/Acura system is slightly better than the Hyundai/Kia/Genesis system, but they both work quite well the difference is small. I apologize for the lateness of this reply, I am only one man and sometimes comments fall through the cracks

I've noticed a up arrow or down arrow appearing while using adaptive cruise control, either when going up or down hills, speed limit changes, or when car ahead of me is decelerating or accelerating beyond my cruise control speed. Do you know what up and down arrows mean?

What is the purpose of the Lane Follow Assist? I know what it does but can’t think of a reason to ever use it when you have to have your hands on the wheel anyway.

Since there are more things to distract us these days while we drive (IE Cell phones) think of it as an extra set of eyes on the road

I have a 2025 Tucson and while using cruise the system is constantly checking my eyes to make sure that I'm pay attention to the road. Sadly it has a major issue with my polarized prescription glasses. It won't use cruise more than a minute before it throws up a "Forward Attention Warning" and after 3 checks, it bails out of using cruise. I've even gone into the system by selecting the following options, "Setup/Vehicle/Driver Assistance/Driver Attention Warning" and turned the forward attention warning off, yet it still acts as if it is on. It does half decent during bright daylight but at night I'm forced to remove my glasses. Have any of you ran into this and found a solution?

I haven't had that issue on a Hyundai product, but I had a 2021 Subaru Legacy that watched my eyes and was very annoying to me so I finally ended up putting electrical tape over the infra-red camera lol. Not sure if that would help your issue, if the driver facing cameras don't function it might no let you turn smart cruise control on at all but if there are no other solutions it might be worth a try.

I think the forward facing camera is working, sadly not to its fullest. Cruise tends to work well when it's really Bright outside or my glasses are off. Hyundai has a video out that talks about how it can act stupid with sunglasses or polarized glasses. That seems to be the case with mine.
