Thank you for the useful guide into adaptive CC. Really seems like a game changer. I take delivery of my new Tucson company car in March, and this channel has really helped me understand what to expect. Both the good (adaptive cruise control), the bad (annoying speed limit warnings), and the ugly (lane keep assist). Will need to get used to deactivating all this stuff every time I start the car 😢

I drove test a Tucson and a Kona yesterday, while the Kona was manual 1.0 T-GDI 120 ps "Premium", the Tucson was a 1.6 T-GDI HEV 215 and was the first time I have properly tested the system on a Hyundai (I have tested a similar system before on a Citroen C5x but was pretty weird). The system was working great. Long story short, I have placed an order for a Kona 1.6 T-GDI 138ps, Premium, N-Line in Ultimate Red. It even has a spare wheel which is just wonderful. I have compared a similar Tucson to a Kona and I personally find the Kona more practical compared to the Tucson. While the Tucson's boot is a bit larger, the fact that you have to use that space to have a spare wheel as it does not have one (mild Hybrid only on DCT) maket it basically the same size as the Kona. The delivery time for the Kona is 4-5 months.

I think adaptive CC is great, but have found one flaw - and it's due to other driver behaviour! I really hate it when someone overtakes you, and then cuts in too soon - this can be quite unnerving because your car rapidly decelerates because they are in 'your space'. I always use the greater spacing setting because I often think these are set to be too close (my MB was the same). They drive 'closer than I would' - yes, I know they rely on technology, so it's OK.... But I like my spacing!

@@doolanbrian Here's a question... If the driver cutting in on me instigates an RTC by their actions, because my car responds to the built in action, defined and approved by NCAP.... Who's at fault?? That will feed a few hungry lawyers!

@@herrtomas6729 it’s a fair question and I would imagine this will be judged on the driver of either vehicle still having control over the vehicle and only using the features where appropriate. But it most certainly wouldn’t be a straightforward day in court that’s for sure! I suppose the responsibility would fall on the driver who initiated the movement, which led to the accident?
