I actually prefer applying the redermic eye cream first and then the redermic cream. I have very sensitive eyes and this way I avoid transferring some of the residue of the face cream around the eye area.

Hi Melissa! Whats the difference between this Retinol Cream and the B3 Retinol Serum?
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet2 жыл бұрын
One is a cream, and the other is a serum, but they both have 0,3% retinol. So means that it depends on what you prefer, the efficacy will likely stay the same, but the cream may not be as irritating.

@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet2 жыл бұрын
You have Granactive Retinoid 5%, which is not Retinol. And it is hard to tell which one is stronger, but if you go with the bit of research available, the 5% Granactive Retinoid would be stronger; however, it will show less irritation. You can read all the details here: Granactive Retinoid: incidecoder.com/ingredients/hydroxypinacolone-retinoate Retinol: incidecoder.com/ingredients/retinol

Hi Melissa, Im changing bit my skincare and looking for better retinol than the ordinary 0.5. I might been breaking out from ordinary products, so im thinking about neutrogena retinol boost serum or la roche posay. I have combo skin wit acne prone and sensitive. What would you recommend and that is helpful for acne and anti age?

Hey could you please tell me what u think about replacing the hyalu from la roche for the marine hyaluronics from the ordinary ? And what about the retinol from the inkey list ? What u think about it ? Thank you so much! Ps: I have oily acne prone skin, could you please recommend the products that u think would be more suitable for my skin type ? Thank you so much!
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet2 жыл бұрын
The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics has a very light texture, so from that perspective, it's better. However, the Hyaluronic Acid serum gives you more of a plumped skin. So it really depends on what you want to achieve. I haven't tested The Inkey List Retinol long enough to see the benefits. However, the texture felt great on the skin, and since it has a very low % it's ideal for people new to retinol. For Oily Acne-Prone skin, I suggest Paula's Choice 0,3% Retinol + Bakuchiol (If you want to have anti-ageing benefits as well) La Roche Posay Retinol Serum (contains fragrance) or the best would be Differin 0,1%.

I am desperate cuz im doing my best to treat it. Hydrating and Eating well, Exercise, double cleansing, sunscreen everyday, changing pillow cases every 3 days… i hope retinoid is the solution 🥹

If it makes your skin worse...stop using it! Have you ever tried a 4%-5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser? If not, I recommend using that one instead, which you can use either all over your face or just in the affected area. You can also alternate between that one and a regular cleanser that's suitable for your skin type. @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet2 жыл бұрын
You can't really do much to stop the oil. What works best is an oil regulating moisturizer. (something like La Roche Posay Effaclar Matt)But you can use some skincare products three times a day. However, I am not sure if that is beneficial; your skin may not need that much, so you are just wasting a lot of product, and you are potentially irritating the skin. And I also wonder if you can already use Differin since you have used isotretinoin. So it may be best to ask your doctor for that. He/she could give you better advice for your specific skin needs.

Hi melissa! I have acne prone dry skin. In the morning i use cerave hydrating cleanser after that i apply vichy hylaronic acid, inkey list vit c serum and weleda skinfood. At night i use the same cleanser, paula’s choice bha liquid, paula’s choice azeliac acid booster and cerave hydrating cream. My pores still get clogged all the time, and i get small breakouts i don’t understand what i’m doing wrong😔 even tho i extract the blackheads the next day they are back!!
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet2 жыл бұрын
It is probably Weleda Skinfood or and the CeraVe moisturizing cream. Both are very rich. You have dry skin, but still, you need to be careful when using such thick creams. They most often make matters worse. My advice would be to try something light such as NIOD Hydration Vaccine or Paula's Choice Water-Infusing Electrolyte Moisturiser or La Roche Posay Ultra Fluid, probably in combination with a Retinol or even Retinoid. AM: Cleanser Hyaluronic Acid Vitamin C Moisturizer, e.g., NIOD Hydration Vaccine PM1 (2-3x per week): Cleanser Paula's Choice 2% BHA Azelaic Acid Booster PM2 (3-4x a week) Cleanser Differin 0,1% Moisturizer e.g., NIOD Hydration Vaccine

I don't use water to wash my face at all for 10 years or more, just La roche miscellar water for sensitive skin. Is that enough prep or I need a cleanser? Tap water here is terrible.
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Жыл бұрын
Using micellar water as your sole method of facial cleansing can be effective for removing dirt, oil, and makeup from your skin. However, micellar water may not be as effective as a traditional cleanser at removing sweat, bacteria, and other impurities that can accumulate on your skin throughout the day. While tap water quality can vary depending on your location, it's generally safe to use tap water to cleanse your face if it's not too harsh or drying for your skin. However, if you find that tap water is irritating or drying your skin, it's understandable that you would want to avoid it.
