How to use La Roche Posay Retinol B3 Serum

I've been using prescribed tretinoin since 2014. For the people who have issues with flaky skin, irritations and dryness I would like to recommend Cicaplast Baume B5 from La Roche Posay. It is much better on the regeneration thanks to shea butter and madecassoside.

I also love the Avene cicalfate restorative skin cream for the same issues, both worked brilliantly on my skin (especially to soothe eczema); however, both caused black heads with frequent use so maybe avoid using regularly if you have problems with blocked pores. They both have quite different ingredients so try the other of you get problems!

Maybe soon i will increase the frequency ( 2x/week). My night time routine: gentle cleanser + effaclar serum + hyalu b5 serum. It has changed my skin to much better. And the post acne marks , lines ( for 42 yo woman 🙃) are much better with retinol serum too ( 7 weeks period of usage till now). My skin doesn’t look dull anymore. Hi Melissa, hoping you might be able to help. I am really struggling with a high amount of shine/ oiliness and I’m not sure where I am going wrong! Hey! :) To see if it works better for you, use your current Granactive Retinoid without a moisturizer, or I recommend exchanging your Granactive Retinoid in Squalane with the one in Emulsion. Alternatively, you can have a look at LRP Retinol Serum or Geek & Gorgeous Retinal, both of which have a non-oily texture.

No, that is not an issue. It's about direct sunlight exposure. Retinoids increase skin cell turnover, which brings new skin cells more quickly to the surface. These new skin cells are then more susceptible to sun damage. I’ve been using retinol twice a week for about a week, and I’ve been applying La Roche-Posay Anthelios sunscreen daily, even when I’m indoors. My question is: do I need to wear sunscreen inside my apartment, where I stay most of the week, or is it sufficient to apply it only when I go outside and get direct sun exposure? I literally almost never go out of my apartment since I work from home so like I don’t see it necessary to be applying sunscreen even indoors… only when going out! Thanks for your help!

Hey again! :) If you spend most of your time indoors, there's no need to use sunscreen-in that case, it may be more harmful than beneficial. Just use it if you're outdoors for an extended period and unable to seek shade-basically, to avoid getting a sunburn.

I normally use the hydroboost cleanser, then the effaclar toner (every other day bec it;s drying for me sometimes), then the la roche B5 serum then the la roche duo plus moisturizer. now that I have the retinol, I'll switch out the B5 for the retinol at night and use it in the morning instead and lock it in with the neutrogena water gel (what I have at the moment). Does that sound alright? I use the effaclar exfoliating toner every other night in my night (and only) routine to unclog my blackheads/pores. i'll stop it while I use retinol for the first month. In the mean time, what can I use to unclog my pores that wouldnt be too harsh or sudden to my skin with the retinol? Thank you so much for your time. You try what you've mentioned above or try this: AM: - Neutrogena Cleanser - LRP HA Serum - Effaclar DUO - Sunscreen PM 1: - Neutrogena Cleanser - LRP Retinol - Neutrogena Moisturizer PM 2: - Neutrogena Cleanser - LRP Toner - Neutrogena Moisturizer So, you would alternate between your Retinol and Effaclar Toner :)

Between the retinol and the moisturiser can I dampen my skin with a face mist after waiting the 1-2 minutes or will that just wash off the retinol. When you bought it, was it sealed? Hello :) The bottle was not sealed. But I cannot remember if the packaging was, but I think they are not! But maybe someone else reading this can help you further. The colour can change when exposed to air or sunlight as it can oxidize. If it is only a little, there is no need to worry, but if that formulation turns dark yellow or orange, don't use it anymore as it may have lost its efficacy.

However, if you are experiencing a significant increase in acne, particularly in a specific area such as your chin, it may be a sign that the product is not agreeing with your skin.

It doesn't say anything. But generally, retinol shouldn't be used if you are younger than 12. If you are a teenager, you likely do not need to use it daily; still, you could use it. Ok, because LRP Retinol serum shouldn't be pink, it's white to slightly yellow.

@@marelaelia7982 LRP recommends using their Hyalu B5 before applying their Retinol. However, the texture is very similar so, it can also be used the other way around too. Try it and see what order of application works best for you! :)

Yes, you can! But I wouldn't use them at the same time. Best to alternate days. Or use one in the morning (BHA) and the other in the evening.

generally, retinol is not used for acne. But more so retinoids, but it may also help with acne. So it is for all skin types and is mainly used for anti-ageing purposes.

Hey! :) Yes, however, I haven't tried Estee Lauder's serum so I'm not sure about the texture, how it feels and how it absorbs into the skin. Layer from the thinnest to the thickest texture. You would likely use Estee Lauder's serum first :)
