Hi Anthony, new to Luminar 4 but very exited for at last I am working with a program easy to learn and yet I am still getting to " comprehend " it. What I've noticed is most of the presenters do a reasonable job and I follow most of them as it gives me the chance to see different styles. I think you impart your knowledge thoroughly in a way that makes me understand "what happens" to the picture when I apply layers or masks to images. Thank you and please continue delivering such a nice training. Kind regards Clem (QLD, Australia)

I would assume AT that one could create a "look" before the erase layer or even after but turn off the erase layer to save all the work for the future of what is created? With the use of the layers, including those in the included look, they could be adjusted individually for a new image if the "look" is just not exactly as desired for another image.

Hi Karl. Thanks for your kind words! I think the composition tool would be disabled because photoshop would nee to handle the cropping of the file itself. I think if the edit from Luminar was a different size going back into Photoshop than the canvas you were initially working on it would confuse the program. Just my guess on it 😀👍

What is the benefit of stamping the first few layers
@AnthonyTurnham4 жыл бұрын
Hi Bruce. Good question! If you have a stamped layer you're able to work directly onto that layer as if that were a new image in itself. IE any effects applied become global and effect the image as a whole. Also, if you're confident of your combination of the first two layers you could delete those underlying layers to free up more system resources. (I kept them in as I wanted to demonstrate having a stack of layers and how they interact).

Anthony, thanks for the videos. I purchased Luminar just a couple weeks ago and am still experimenting. Living in a dark skies area of the US I'm lucky enough to get lots of opportunity to shoot meteors. Is there anyway of layering my photos of single meteors in order to get a composite image of maybe a half dozen?
@AnthonyTurnham4 жыл бұрын
Hi David. Absolutely. You could start with your preferred overall shot and then add the other meteor photos as new image layers. From there you could experiment with the blend mode overlay or screen to just bring in the brightest part of that photo - ie the meteors. Or alternatively apply a luminosity mask as I demo in this video. Or try a combo of both. Best of luck. Let me know how you get on!

Hi Anthony! Thank you very much for your tutorials... But! Im little bit confused.. What the differens betwin Luminar 4 and AI? I have AI >I do real estate photography. Do i need to buy Luminar 4 as well? Thank you!
@AnthonyTurnham4 жыл бұрын
Hi Yevgeniy. No you don't need both. However, Luminar 4 does have a few extra bells in terms of layering and luminosity masks which can be great for working with multiple exposures in real estate / architecture photography, but if you can get by with AI then you don't need L4 too.
@yevgeniyboubankov21274 жыл бұрын
@@AnthonyTurnham Thank you very much Anthony!
@AmenitaMuscaria4 жыл бұрын
So you add something to a base layer. Maybe more warmth. To keep that do you have to create a stamped layer and then add a new layer to continue adding so you don't lose what you've already done. I may be mistaken but in the video it seems that you added a new layer a few times without creating a stamped layer. I guess my question is this. Do you have to create a stamped layer to keep what you've done and then add a new layer to continue editing and creating a stamped layer every time so as not to lose anything. I learned a lot from this video and want to learn more. Thanks
@AnthonyTurnham4 жыл бұрын
Hi Blumanchu. Great question. So in a nutshell, you don't need to stamp the layers together to preserve what's underneath. You can just keep adding on top. One reason for stamping is to be able to access again that you had previously used. In this video I stamped some layers simply as a demonstration that you CAN do that, not necessarily because it was needed. Sorry, I think I confused a few people by doing that.

Hi Anthony, I have a heap of green screen shots and I have Luminar 4 and was wondering if you would do some tutorials on working with green screen images? or direct me to them if there are any available you can recommend.
@AnthonyTurnham4 жыл бұрын
Hi Kircard - I haven't played too much with green screens in Luminar - but one thought of how you MAY be able to tackle it... how about using the colour tab to shift the greens into the blue hues, from there try using Luminar's AI sky replacement tool. As if you're "fooling" the software's AI into thinking the greenscreen (now blue) is a sky. Then load the background you want in as if you were doing a sky replace. It's just a thought of an outside the box solution... If you try it let me know how you get on!

What is the advantage of stamping layers during your workflow? Why not wait till the end?
@AnthonyTurnham4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark. Good question. So, I left all the layers there and active just to kinda demo how a layer stack comes together. Usually if I'm happy to stamp the layers and commit to my changes I'll delete the layers underneath to free up system resources. You may have noticed, any software using AI suddenly demands a lot more from your computer. Cheers for the question :) 😀👊

When you place the sun at 10:33 it goes under the clouds and when I placed the sun it is over the clouds. I can't partially hide it beneath the clouds because it's over top of the clouds.
@AnthonyTurnham4 жыл бұрын
Hi Blumanchu. If you try dropping the penetration slider down the sun and it's rays have less ability to affect the darker pixels - i.e. the clouds. The bigger the difference in tone between sky and clouds the better job the software will do straight off the bat.
@warmgun4 жыл бұрын
