Live preview while recording is enabled for the 12. It would be a simple firmware update on their end to add it back for the 11 but I doubt they'll do that, to keep it as a selling point for the 12.

Great video! I have a question about the aperture of the max lens mod 2.0. I'm planning to shoot some night sky timelapses, this would be great for it! Can you tell me what the aperture value of the mod is? So does it let in the same amount of light as the standard lens, more or less? Cheers!

I use my GoPro mainly for photography. I got the MaxMod2 without investigation and realized I can't really shoot in RAW and get that view! If I really have to, I have to disable the mod in camera settings which will give a round fisheye view! You can't do HDR in videos either(even with labs!). In my view it is worth it only for very specific use cases.

My Hero12 lens was nearly impossible to get off. I hope it loosens a bit over time but fresh, it took way too much effort.

What I learned is that it needs to be pulled outwards a little bit before twisting. It was on a KZbin video, but not in the actual GoPro manuals. Take a butter kniofe or something similar and lift up just a little bit and it will turn easily.

Literally so they can force people to buy a 12. It makes NO sense, It can fit on my 11 and is the same price as the original, but I can’t use it in 4k because they CHOSE to lock it? They might as well have made it a different locking mechanism for the lens system, because it’s a legit slap in the face no reviewer has brought up.

Yes, HERO12 Black still supports Max Lens Mod 1.0. Please keep in mind that Max Lens Mod 1.0 does not support the new features + specs available in Max Lens Mod 2.0.

The image is blurry with the Max lens 2.0, the focus is less, I get much better picture quality without the Max lens, is this normal?

Hi I have a GoPro Hero 12 Black . My settings are 16:9 | 4k | 30/60 | SuperView. HyperSmooth On, ProTune: Sharpness Medium, Color Natural, ISO MAX 400 or 800 everything else its default . Bitrate high color 10 bit My problem is that I find it almost impossible to record a video that has no noise. If it is a bright sunny day and there is some darker area in the frame, I see noise in that area. also owned a GoPro 5 black & Hero 8 black a few years ago and never had this problem like that in my Hero 12 Black GoPro Should fix this probleme ..... soon Updates for camera is to late 5 month rest and gopro 13 will be released and its predesor have not geat working great have a lot o big problems ...... that not good we west our money in this products that have a bunch o problems

For the money the camera should automatically switch to Mod2.0, not manually. Add series of small magnets and a magnetic sensor. Very simple.
