How does the global data object work when you want to share data between a SNC16122 and an NCE2516 and how do you set it up?

You will set it up the same way. As long as your network isn't blocking communication between the two different devices, it will work fine.

Thanks for your video. I have a problem thou. I followed your instructions to the letter and it overwrites just fine. But it doesn't release. I tried "temporary overwrite" and "operator overwrite" I have to reset the field controller. That's not very helpful. What am I doing wrong?

The global data object is not intended to release values it writes from one to the other. It has an adjustable refresh for when it will rewrite that value again from the master to the slave list.

I don't have a system to try it on but do you know if you first create a group and then select all the common setpoints as part of that group, which can all be done by holding the control key while selecting the points, can you then just add the group to the slave list and get all of the items commanded at once?

Theres other ways of doing it that would allow you to group them.

There are a few ways of doing that. You can use LCT or other logic blocks. It depends on the type of data you wish to share. The global data object is another way. You need to remember that the speed of your network will influence the reliability of data transfer between devices. Sometimes networks with a lot of security can have negative effects on the transfer of data.
