How to Use my xTool F1 Ultra Laser Jigs

My F1 Ultra bundle will arrive on Monday so I am glad you put out this video. I will be ordering some jigs to make my life easier. I bought the conveyor so don't know if the jigs are necessary but why risk it. I'll try both and see what works best. Thanks for your videos Sam, I am sure I'll be learning a lot more from you.

Great video Sam. I just ordered a couple of your jigs and look forward to more F1 Ultra jigs (I received my F1 Ultra laser last week). I purchased your 'Jig Adapter - xTool F1 to F1 Ultra' as it saves most of my previous jigs that were for the F1 (standard laser). The downloadable files that come with the confirmation email are great and will save time on production. Also, your explanation on "How to Use my XCS Project Files" (10:21) in your video is great resource. Thanks for pointing out the new 'Lock/Unlock' option (14:47) that is now available (time saver!).

Sam, excellent video my friend, and very informative. I have my F1 Ultra coming in a few weeks, pretty excited to be honest. Question though, for your jigs, I just added a few to a basket to see how much shipping would be, and as I expected, coming from over the water it's pretty expensive. Is there any way of getting these over to a distributor, in the UK, that could then send them out to UK Addresses with a more cost-effective shipping cost? The jigs look awesome, by the way, a lot of thought has gone into these. Stay safe and best wishes to your family.

Look at that !!! In the last video about the jig's, I mentioned that I (thankfully) noticed they were for the F1, not the F1 Ultra. Well, I'll be damned, here they are! THANKS SAM. I’m really new to lasers and was wondering how you decide when you use a jig. Do you ever use the conveyor belt? If so I’d guess no jig?

Sam why are your hold down holes so large that you can move the jig that much? I make mine so tight that there is almost not wiggle. That way once I have my jigs aligned and the file saved I never have to realign, bolt it up and go!

Thank you. On the pen jig, how do you test to get the right settings? Obviously can use the test grid file, but any suggestions?

When I am testing a new product I'll usually just lay it down on the laser bed without a jig since alignment is not as big of an issue. If the pen material is the same as another I have engraved on (anodized aluminum business cards for example), then I'll use those known settings first, then adjust as needed for the outcome I want. If nothing else, the built-in material settings in XCS can also help to get you close to a range and experiment with further, too.

I'm trying to create my own jigs for an F1 not ultra. One thing that's always had me questioning my sanity is how one creates a 3d print and then align it with the template in XCS. Which one comes first? As you know know with your 3d printer you find all sorts of prints out there and many don't come with the XCS template. Do you have documentation you've found somewhere that you use to make them or ?? I don't think I need exact step by step, just what. parameters do you use, what one comes first XCS template or CAD file for 3d Print?

I spent a great deal of time working out my process. I have a large box of prototype jigs I kept for kicks to show what all I went through to dial it in. The jig is the egg, the file is the chicken.

Help! Got Xtool F1 ultra. When I Frame on a product the framing is in the correct position. But the finished lettering has moved below the framing box. Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like you have something out of alignment. I would go directly to xTool Support with that issue.

redo your pen jig to where the thumb screws are recessed and use same thumb screws. Just make the recess hole that you already have and problem solved for everyone. especially for your customer

Apparently you are not very familiar with the F1 Ultra; jigs are not necessary. Demoes show that you can batch process with pieces arranged willy nilly.
