I just got my kit two days ago and this video was very helpful. I wasn’t totally lost but seeing how you utilize the two sections was very helpful. Thanks, Sam.

Seriously considering purchasing these. How do engravings compare vs using a rotary? Ie; rotary turning and engraving vs a stationary, flat image.

Excellent Jig Setup! My immediate question would be: Would you think about adding two more screws to the kit for the ramps? It appears that there is some possible play side to side with the long tall ramp for example. By having the 4 screws you all but guarantee they are square and perpendicular to the base. Just my 2 cents. Great Job regardless!
@terryclair2914Ай бұрын
Boy amazing how close mine is to yours except instead of ramps I used different height risers made from 3mm wood that slotted into an array of slots on a 3D printed base. I think I like yours better! Nice work...
@krisknowlton5935Ай бұрын
Sam, that is an ingenious idea. It is simple yet functional. One bit of advice, use your laser to put patent pending on it. That protects you better than a patent. Been there. You don't want some jerk stealing your idea and putting it into production. This video will help prove you invented it.
@SamcraftcomАй бұрын
Thanks for the advice! I’ll discuss that with a company I’m working with on some trademark and other legal work.
@krisknowlton5935Ай бұрын
Sam, if you have ever noticed that some products have patent pending on them vs. an actual patent, it is because the patent pending cost you nothing and last forever. Whereas a patent can cost you tens of thousands of dollars. But, you are correct in speaking to a patent attorney about it because laws do change over time. By the way, I talked to Mark at Scroungers Paradise. He said the warehouse was not hurt in the hurricane, however he did lose his house and cars.

Looks nice but I must be missing something. How do you rotate the cup to engrave? I know my P2 can engrave a curved surface, but not very far around the mug.

This is not a replacement for jobs that require a rotary for the proper outcome. Upcoming videos will help illustrate the benefits and proper use for this jig system.

Does this kit work with the regular F1?
@SamcraftcomАй бұрын
This particular kit will not work unless you already have a riser base. Such a kit is being developed but will require a few more components due to the low vertical clearance of the F1. I do sell many other jigs for the F1 though!

Hi Sam, awesome stuff! I commented on a previous video (the 'How to Use my xTool F1 Ultra Laser Jigs' one), regarding shipping to the UK - you may have missed it? I want to get hold of some of these jigs, but shipping will cut my budget of 'Kit Kats' down by at least half .................. is there a distributor in the UK for these, to save us on the shipping side? My basket currently has a couple of jigs in it, currently the total is at £93, with shipping of £75, giving a total of £168 - are there any other options available, for us 'over the water' please? By the way, huge respect for you Sam, the stuff you do and ideas you have are very impressive!

HELP, Sam when did you order your Omni 1? The reason for the question, is that I went to order one on Friday night and they had raised the price by 700$. I'm sure that their website said that the price was going up Nov 1. Do you have a memory as to the cut off date? I have emailed them looking for a clarification. We have had about 40 different back and forth email regarding the B's and the Omni 1, I do not want to pay a extra 700$ after all of this.

Hey Sam, I just wanted to share my thought about digital fabrication : it's all about no jigs ever. Jigs invades your whole workshop in no time, while consuming your time in storage and setup. Here I would have design a rotary chuck, like on a lathe, which can adapt any round thing. In other words, I would think tools, not jigs. 1 proper tool for each job, that's productivity's pinnacle. My two cents.
@Tater_PoutineАй бұрын
Rotaries suck.. anytime you can keep something Static. It's always easier for repeatability..
@axelSixtySixАй бұрын
@@Tater_Poutine It seems I may have been misunderstood. A chuck is basically a vise designed for cylindrical objects. Unlike blocks or jigs, it adapts to virtually any shape-whether it's tapered, streamlined, or just plain quirky. Once your object is firmly secured, precision is pretty much a given. Now, tie that chuck to a stepper motor, and you've got yourself precise 360° positioning. I can't quite find fault with this system, except for one thing: it shares the downside of its strengths. It does require a bit of investment and, well, thinking ahead. But then again, where's the fun without a challenge, right?
