Super helpful! Thank you! I have really enjoyed your gear reviews but this kind of video is very valuable. Most other channels speak about lighting with big lights and scrims that just aren't practical for travel content. Your tutorials are travel focused and you help us work around the limitations of that. Thanks again!

When I travel, I shoot with my iPhone, gopro and quadcopter. My main rule of good light is to shoot at the golden hour, if possible. I love making travel videos after every trip!

Hey Pascal, great content as usual, can I ask about lens filters? I currently have a Bmpcc 6K pro which suffers from IR pollution. For this reason, I have an IR/UV cut filter, and I have a black pro mist filter. I’m also wondering if I got an IRND or normal ND, would these 3 be too many to get a nice image. Also, as I already have an IR cut filter would the IRND be needed in your opinion or just go for a standard ND, guessing a variable wouldn’t be advised? Last question, what order would you stack them?
@pascalbasel Жыл бұрын
I never used an IR/UV filter except for learns protection from scratches and constantly use VNDs. I often stack a mist filter on top of my VND.

@@pascalbasel as in your mist closer to the subject or closer to the sensor. My assumption would be a VND would have to go closest to the subject as otherwise it may get stuck or you would be unable to rotate it? Would love to hear your thoughts?

@@quiztasiarocks Just use a system like the McKinnon Mattebox, Freewell or NiSi.

Why does this video not have more views? I think these are great tips, especially how to address hard light situations. Hope your drone wasn’t too battered up!

Nice video as always! First time I comment but I have already learned so much from your video's:) I also had a quick question if you don't mind: currently I'm shooting with the X-S10 camera (first only photo but last months more and more video) and I love colour grading but I feel like the 8-bit recording limit on the X-S10 is holding me back quite a bit.. My question is if I should stay with FujiFilm when buying a new camera or if I should change brands now that I don't have that many lenses yet? I love the feeling of fujifilm and I have 0 issues with the photos but for video I don't know... I've seen a lot of your video's so I know you have experience with a lot of different brands and that's why I wanted to ask this to you. I hope it doesn't annoy you as you probably get these kind of questions a lot. Thanks!:)

Thanks, to answer your question: It doesn't make a huge difference anymore if you shoot Fuji, Sony or Canon. They are all pretty good. Define your budget, get to a shop and get a grip on all cameras within your budget and decide what like the most. Of course, also check what lenses you want.

Maybe you can borrow a 10bit capable fuji or a recorder as x-s10 outputs 10bit on hdmi, shoot with the same settings 8 vs 10bit and check if it is really the problem. Would be interesting to hear or see the results. I'm still sceptical that unless one is doing pro work the picture quality of the x-s10, which I own, in eterna or flog does not cut it. I'd rather change cam because of the autofocus ;)
