Hi, Dr. Dray, my dermatologist advised me to use Differin without any moisturizer in the evening but my skin became so sensitive that even touching my pillow while sleeping hurt, so I switched to applying it your way (after moisturizer) and my skin feels so much better (no pain anymore). So, I would like to thank you for your videos, they've really helped me a lot with fighting my acne! :)

I had some samples of that and didn't really notice anything, was it impressed, however the dermatologist who didn't want to talk with me as an adult gave me a sample of neocutis to try around my eyes and my optometrist uses that same doctor and said that she felt that SkinCeuticals worked better around her eyes. Nevertheless I went to a meeting at a spa and one a package of Aveve with the larger package being the cleansing foam so I'm just trying to use that up and I'm not particularly impressed without either. I know it cost a fortune but I never bothered to price it.

New subscriber here! Love love love from Down Under :) Just found out yesterday that in Australia you can buy either Finacea Gel at around $26 or Azclear (20% azelaic acid) at $12 in a local chemist as they are OTC here, no prescription needed, and more affordable too. I started to have mild rosacea after moving to Oz from America, although I've never been bothered with acne, might be the uv exposure despite being a fervent sunscreen advocate. Bought azelaic acid yesterday, hopefully combined with niacinamide and zinc it will help calm down my skin ^_^ Many thanks for your videos! binge watching now lol

@missbarbieyaya5 жыл бұрын
Eser Gezgic Hi! I used Obagi Meducal products for my dark spots. It was Rx by my dermatologist. It worked AMAZING on my skin. It literally got rid of my old skin and gave me a new one. No dark spots whatsoever. I should say the process wasn’t easy. I experienced “rash”, redness, I was pealing like a sneak lol. But the result was worth it. The other con is that is PRICEY. I stopped using it because of the price, I couldn’t afford it anymore. That’s why I’m trying the PCA Skin Pigment Gel HQ Free :)

@joycem27955 жыл бұрын
@@anonymous6594 You can get Curology every month or every two months. First month is free if you want to try it out. I'm really happy with it. You get a lot of support and information from the Physician Assistant assigned to you. Apologies to Dr Dray, but I got more help from the Curology people about my acne than I did from years of visiting derms. The derms I saw didn't want to be bothered with acne patients. You can also pause your subscription if you still have too much product and are not ready for next bottle. What I really like is that I can gradually step up my percentage of Tretinoin as my skin adjusts. I can increase the percentage each bottle if I like. Also much cheaper than prescription Tretinoin.
@anghellbeth5 жыл бұрын
I just got my prescription for it too. They gave me Tretinoin .5%, Niacinamide 4%, and Azelaic acid 5% it seems like a cost effective alternative on paper. And after the free trial you can choose to get a monthly bottle. But I believe I picked every 2 months. And you can choose whether you want the extras (lotions and cleansers). Edit: I decided to try it because I couldnt get my scripts of 1% Tretinoin filled anymore. And I wanted to try this before buying Differin.
@stephanielagares48175 жыл бұрын

@@stephanielagares4817 I know you didn't ask me. But I took a survey.. and pictures of my face, neck, back, etc. They initially ordered me a bunch of acne meds.. I just sent them an email saying I wanted stronger Tretinoin and more of an anti aging regimen. My provider changed it right away. This definitely worked on my skin. Had some stubborn dark areas that’s dint go away even after a month. Within a couple of weeks of using this, they faded considerably to the point that they don’t bother me anymore. Also this even made those skin areas more filling n smoother. I still get acne from time to time but this helps speed up the recovery for sure. This did cause some minor irritation when applied so I use it like once in 2 days. Also, I’ve noticed that I get less acne in the areas I had applied this the most. But that may not be related.

Thanks for the video, Dr. Dray! I was just thinking the other day that I never hear you talk about Paula's Choice products. I am a big fan of their products, although I think they put too many ingredients in many of the newer formulas, which can be very irritating.

Thank you for giving us step by step instructions on your application process. I just got the Paula’s Choice azelaic acid booster and am happy to learn that it will work even better combined with my tretinoin. Out, out brown spots! 😃😁👍👍💕💕

I have a few questions from past videos.. 1. Can Linoleic acid in oils help repair the skin barrier? 2. Does Oleic acid in oils disrupt the skin barrier and worsen epidermal water loss? 3. Does certain oils go deeper in the skin then just the epidermis? Thanks!☺️

I use The Ordinary's azelaic acid occasionally but it is in conjunction with other products that have more powerful ingredients-- like niacinamide in one of my retinol creams and Lytera from Skin Medica. The only thing that super diminished my melasma was a laser treatment six years ago. It made a huge difference in my skin. It was a major investment and that is why I now am so conscientious about sunscreen application. I don't want it to come back! My melasma came on with my first pregnancy 32 years ago.

Love your videos Dr. Dray. Thank you for the information. Can I use the Paula’s choice Azelaic acid with my Tretinoin cream 0,05 cream at night? Since the one from Paula’s choice contains Salicylic Acid. Or use that specific Azelaic acid in the morning and Tretinoin at night? Thank you.

Hi Dr Dray. Thank you for your video as always. I've finally decided to try out this pigment gel after using Differin for over 5 months and getting used to it. My main goal is to use this gel to fade the red acne marks (PIE) and also prevent further acne. May I ask you some questions regarding the application? First, how long should I wait after applying Differin to apply the gel? Second, since I tend to get oily in the morning, I'm not used to skipping the morning cleansing. In that case, after cleaning, can I directly apply the pigment gel to the bare skin, followed with a moisturizer with SPF?

Great video, I had been wondering about azelaic acid. I just signed up for a free trial with curology and they prescribed .01% tretinoin with 2% azelaic and 4% niacinamide. I was hoping for a stronger prescription of the tretinoin but I guess this is a good place to start since I've never tried it before. Thanks for the video!

I have melasma all over my forehead from tanning beds when I was a kid. And Hyperpigmetation around my mouth from pregnancy. I have tired the Murad line and Burts and Bees brightening line. Nothing has helped yet. I will have to try that brand next but it is really pricey. I put so much sun screen on now so it wont get darker and it makes me so oily. I really need to see a dermatologist just pricey. Going to try this PCA Pigment gel next!
