I was worried this would just be an ad for a sample pack, or another lesson in sprinkling in one-shot samples over a breakdown. But! This was an invaluable lesson in post production. Honestly, killer content as usual. Thank you!

Thank you so much for the kind words! 😄 Sprinkling one-shots over breakdowns is tops 50% of metal production 😉

I think we need more content about pre production. Everybody is talking about post production stuff but only a few give insight about what to do in songwriting arrangement and stuff like that. I kinda expected this to be the secret ingredient in modern metal.

For sure I agree that this could be its own video. In the instance of this song I started with a loop and developed everything else around it. I think the trick is to find what inspires you and then experiment 🤘

How do you communicate this with clients? What I mean is this is now gating into arrangement territory, and I feel even if it sounds good, the band might not like me adding violins and synths to their songs. Hell judging by my clients, the drummers would probably hit me up right away when they hear some shakers they never played.

Completely off topic but it needed a comment The SQUELCHIEST bass I’ve heard to date❤️ what was you using/how did you get that sound?
@MOMetalProductions Жыл бұрын
Haha, thanks a lot 😅 Our bassist Leo plus his Dingwall equals SQUELCH. Also using Saturn into GGD Cali Cabs. Check my latest MIDI bass video, it's got a similar setup mixing wise.

Honestly some great and useful tips! And polarized honestly already sounds insanely good even without post production. Though obviously with the post processing, it sounds even better

How much do you hate recording guitars as opposed to just using the Hydra 😅?
@MOMetalProductions11 ай бұрын
Not at all, a well recorded real guitar will always sound better than the Hydra!

Ok one major critique to the presentation: Just do the A B comparison and then afterwards continue talking. The voice and the volume reduction during the talking make it REALLY hard to listen for the differences. Just play A, play B, switch again maybe ... and then say something. Not during the A B test.
