I have yet to see a more professional and helpful video with varying materials and processes than yours. Thank you SOO much! I am confused on how the product manufacturers word their material. It says it's Printable VINYL...but, it seems to be more of a printable fabric material as opposed to actual vinyl-but, that may just be my perception. Thanks again for this video-extremely helpful. :-)

Yes it is printable heat transfer vinyl. It is basically a vinyl with an adhesive on the back that is heat activated and works on fabric.

I've wasted so much vinyl because the backing will not separate from my printed image! I called my local shop and requested a different brand because of this. I'm glad to see you had difficulty with it also (not just me lol) and I will try the solution you had but it takes forever with some designs to do that with individual letters, etc. Also, when you don't use transfer tape the image curls up and before you can center it on heat press it is ruined (from the heat)! So frustrating! However, thanks for this video - I will keep trying! Guess I need to break out the easy press instead?

I think I would use transfer tape if I wanted individual letters. That is way more complicated than just picking and placing one image!

I have not with this material. I have used tattoo paper to transfer images to wood with good luck. However, the wood grain always shows through so it is a bit "farmhouse" by nature.

In my experience in the distant past, ink jet printer ink couldn't handle getting wet. Is it the type of ink you are using or the Starcraft product that keeps the ink from running when wet? Since you're putting this on clothing, it has to be washable.

Hey Angie, I’m struggling to find the vinyl you have used (maybe because I’m in the UK) The one I’m using now just runs and peels off which is so annoying Any suggestions for other brands of printable HTV

I don't have a ton of recommendations as I am not a huge fan of most brands of this product. Sorry!

Hi there! I’m having a real problem peeling off the backing paper from the StarCraft vinyl for darks. It is leaving a light layer of backing paper on the vinyl design. I’m trying to nudge it off gently with weeding tools. I feel like I am fighting an up-hill battle here. Any ideas???
@AngieHolden3 жыл бұрын
Can you try to wet it slightly to get it to peel?
@sueklosterman29363 жыл бұрын
@@AngieHolden I can certainly try that.

Is there a special ink you have to use with your inkjet with the printable vinyl? I'm asking because the regular inkjet ink is water soluble, which if you've ever dripped something on a printed page you know what I mean. And since you need to be able to wash any clothes you use this on, I was curious how well regular ink would hold up. The same issue with putting prints on wood since you would most likely end up sealing the project with one or more coats of polyurethane or varnish. Thanks for the great videos and for all you do to help this community out.

No. You can use your regular printer and regular ink. You can definitely seal the wood piece though!

How do we create a design of for example a family member's photo to print on the htv? Thank you in advance.
@AngieHolden3 жыл бұрын
You can use this for photos.

I following all your steps and my cricut explorer 2 is only cutting the picture into a square... why do you think that is? I appreciate your help!
@AngieHolden3 жыл бұрын
Did you flatten to a square? Most likely that is what happened. Or when you uploaded you didn't remove the background.

Do you need a special ink for the printer or does it work with normal ink? Thanks for the video!
@AngieHolden3 жыл бұрын
This is with normal ink.

Hey Angie! I just tried to use the Starcraft printable HTV on a shirt, followed the directions exactly as it said on the instruction sheet for light material and it stuck to my Easypress. What could I have done wrong? Should I use heat resistant tape to tap it down?
@AngieHolden3 жыл бұрын
If it stuck to your EasyPress, you probably had it upside down would be my guess?
@emilygraham90083 жыл бұрын
@@AngieHolden So I had the design on the shirt and the Starcraft backing on the side the press goes, per their instructions. I finally called 143 Vinyl and they said it sounds like it was printed on the wrong side.

Hi, I am confused, I tried using a Siser Mask on my DTV and it took it off the print, I am getting so confused and discouraged.m
@AngieHolden9 ай бұрын
The siser mask should work with DTV. maybe let it dry longer?

How do you think clothes using htv prints would last after a couple washes. I’m think about starting a T-shirt business with this method?
@AngieHolden4 жыл бұрын
So far so good. I am sure sublimation would last longer but these are doing well. I would included washing/drying instructions with them if I was selling them.
@PocketPets_4 жыл бұрын
Angie Holden A lot of people are saying to not start selling clothes with transfer paper because it’s not good quality. My only concern is if the image will come off after a wash or even a accidental heavy wash.
@AngieHolden4 жыл бұрын
Wondering if you could maybe buy like 5 shirts and make them for yourself then spend a few days washing them a BUNCH of times and see what happens? Then you could tell people exactly how they will stand up!

Angie Holden yea that’s what I’m doing right now. Still in the washing faze tho. Am a little nervous though lol
