@@dionnemortimer8800 Just a guess, but maybe you have a dopamine problem. You can toxicate yourself so far, that even standing up seems not worth it, even if you are hungry, or need to go to the toilet. Your Brain says "I can get a bit dopamine for staying in bed, or a bit more dopamine, if I stand up... well staying in bed consumes less energy and is less effort, staying in bed it is." My problem got so serious, that I and my doctor thought I have depression, but I never had depression, the symptoms are very simmilar tho. This video really helped me and it literally changed my life. I went from escaping all hard work with video games to doing more work in 2 days than I had done in the last 4 or 5 weeks before. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKPJZWtviqmLg7c&feature=emb_logo Wish you all good, dopamine detox does not hurt, it energizes and pushes you every day, to get a better you, than yesterday. I totally forgot, how inner motivation works, but now I have it back, I have control back and find joy even in stuff that normally sucks, like cleaning the oven, it is awesome. Your brain will start to cry and tempt you some days, to fall back to old ways, so my suggestion is, if possible, identify your escape routes, for me, it was "studying is to hard, let's play" So I deleted all my game launchers and changed my passwords to random gibberish and pressed enter, without noting it down, or I instructed the company to delete my account completely, if possible. Burn down your easy dopamine bridges and you finally can start to live again. It doesn't hurt to try it out :)

For those of you who would like to do something about Tier 3, I highly suggest using an application named lock me out on your smartphone. It allows you to lock your phone for a period of time, or you can lock some apps that you use quite frequently. There is also a 20-sec emergency to unlock the phone in case you need it, so you're all covered. I don't lock my phone but rather lock myself out from Whatsapp and Twitter which I'm addicted to using from 8 am to 6 pm. This has helped me a lot in managing my time and working on essential things in my life. Your experience and needs might differ, but the application is worth trying if you're serious in taking a step to being a more productive and happier individual. For iPhone users, you might have an alternative application, but I'm sure you can find something similar. I hope my post will help others and thanks for the channel owner for posting such a great video.

I naturally do this ALL the time! The problem is though, I can always find tier 2 stuff to do and KEEP putting off all the tier 1 stuff! The viscous cycle goes round and round: Anxiety inducing important task needs done, procrastinate by being productive to avoid- anxiously clean, do projects, etc... (Preferably at home-socially isolated- avoid phone!), anxiety builds as time flies and needed "important thing" still isn't done, fear of people/expectations increases making me procrastinate longer, FINALLY face fear just to be free of this mind burden/weight- do the thing- realize it actually wasn't that hard, apologize to myself and people, feel on top of the world, feel proud of myself, decide- I'm a doer! I will accomplish things head on from now on! 😁.........😒 nope- here comes the cycle again! 😭 It feels so defeating! However, many people on the outside don't recognize it and just think I'm productive. They don't know the inner turmoil or all the hopes and dreams I'm not accomplishing because of it. We always look at other's successes we can see and think they have it together, don't we? Man, I wanna overcome this- but, I also want to give myself more grace and look at what I do accomplish in the long run. Prayers for myself and any others out there battling this! 💛

I agree with the principles in this video, however, there is a problem. I have done this before, when a tier 1 task is staring me dead in the face and I know that I need to do it but just can't bring myself to, so I do every tier 2 task in the book. The problem is that eventually we will need to do the tier 1 task, so my personal remedy for this is to tell myself "okay, I'm going to do this tier 2 task, grab a drink of water, use the bathroom, put my phone away, and write one sentence of that tier 1 essay." That sequence of grabbing water, going to the bathroom, and putting my phone away is so helpful because it removes any chance I have at procrastinating further. And the one sentence makes it seem doable. Anyone can write a single sentence, so I'm going to do that. You will end up writing another, then another, and eventually you've written a paragraph, then a page. Before you know it, you've done a good chunk of work, and now that you legitimately need a break, you feel proud of yourself and don't feel guilty about taking the break.

Very smart idea. Completely eliminate BS (tier 3 activities) from your life so that then your only options becomes staring at wall or doing something that has at least some value. Not only in this way we can get out from the 'chill state' and in doing so we can get into 'doing state' but also our life (because of those actions) gets better and more organised, cleaner etc. Our body will push us - in the name of survival - to get into homeostasis state to rest and chill in case if some lion can show up from nowhere and eat us, so we are ready to fight or flight. We need to CONSCIOUSLY acknowledge that and be smarter about that mechanism and live based in a way that we and our life just gets better and better so that ultimately we achieve our desire - we LIVE the life we want to live.

Procrastinating by doing something productive. Very smart, I find myself doing this all the time. Don't want to complete work? Go work out. Still don't want to do work? Housework. Still can't bring yourself to? Go to the shop, go on a run, walk the dog. Of course, usually, I only do one of these activities before getting on with my work, but if it's a particularly bad day I find I've actually gotten so much done because I couldn't be bothered sitting still and writing for a bit. Much better than procrastinating by watching tv because by the end of the day, I can still feel good for having gotten some stuff done so I'm optimistic the next day and am ready to work. It also works the other way - if I need to clean by room or do the dishes and just cannot be bothered with it, I open up a story I'm working on or completed some work I've been meaning to catch up on. Of course, I'd rather not procrastinate at all, but I'm just the kind of person who procrastinates all the time. I'm glad I've figured out how to put it to good use.

Life hack! Find a tier 0 super-mega-important things that you by no means want to do, and start procrastinating on them, doing tier 1 things, instead! In my tier 0 there are now: applying for PhD, and finding a girlfriend. So I work on my master's thesis and it is procrastination!

This is a great video, but most people are still going to struggle with "tier 1" because they dont know what to do in life to be successful. I'd say that if you arent going to school to get a good career going, then look into building your own profitable business and make this your main "tier 1" for main productivity.

Now that I think of it, when you're at work, procrastinating almost always works exactly like this. You can't be completely unproductive by browsing social media or watching Netflix or else you would be in trouble soon. Yet you don't want to work on the main project, so you end up organizing minor things, answering emails and phone calls and look like you are actually pretty productive. The thing is: Whenever I'm REALLY annoyed with my current work-project, I constantly have to resist the urge to just stare at a wall for hours, questioning my life choices. I just can't bring myself to even do tier 2 tasks when I want to procrastinate this hard, so staring at a wall becomes an acceptable option.

But Tier One is stuff like going to work and eating and resting right? So you can't procrastinate Tier One or you'll get sacked from your job. Most of us have to actually go to work rather than the 30% who can work from home. I work 4×10hr shifts welding nights, then I catch up on my sleep and relax. Am I procrastinating or resting after a hard week at work 🤔

2:50 or Sleeping xD Sometimes when I want to do something like playing on guitar, I first do the important home work as fast as possible to just sit later in piece and grab my guitar with knowledge that I can do this all day because I've done everything that was needed so it won't bother me.

I really like how you organized everything in this R.I.P to tier 3 by way hopefully tho lol 😂 but awesome video I will stay on tier 1&2 for 30 days and see what happens
You can also use Productive Productive Procrastination, by cutting off Tier 3 and Tier 2! There is also productively Productive Productive Procrastination where you cut off every Tier, at this point you stop living at all and can use that type of Ultimate Procrastination to focus on not living! :D
