😮AC is supposed to be on Max setting with the recirculation button pushed in as well😮 it has to be on Max to get an accurate pressure reading otherwise you could easily overfill it when it's on low and cause a leak in your system from excessive pressure😮

You can't just look at the gauge on the bottle. You need to look in your engine compartment and see what PSI the manufacturer says it needs to be filled to. You also need to make sure you have the correct coolant mixture for your system.
@LJsGarageАй бұрын
That's if you were to evacuate and recharge the system from empty but if it's just low and you have a small leak you could use this to get by is all I was getting at
@NearEDGEАй бұрын
@@LJsGarage I mean, it wouldn't matter if you evacuated it or not. It's made to work with a particular pressure if you overfill the system it's not at the correct pressure and in some cases it'll work initially then stop working after a week and then someone will put more in thinking a bad leak, but actually they're loading the the system to the point where it can't effectively run.
@jaynol4580Ай бұрын
It doesn’t say what psi to fill it to. Just how many ounces. All r134a behaves the same in every system dude
@NearEDGEАй бұрын
@@jaynol4580 What car are you looking at that's measuring a pressure regulated system in ounces? Also, not all cars use r134a which is why you need to check that your car even takes it.
@jaynol4580Ай бұрын
@@NearEDGE ok bud no shit, and what im looking at is called service manuals from 100 of different manufacturers. They literally all just give you an amount in ounces to charge to, then you check your pressures to make sure that given the outside temp and humidity that your system pressures are correct. Theres no spec on pressure because they charge based on temp and humidity which is why you go off a pressure chart, you clearly have never actually worked on automotive hvac bozo

The gauge says it’s good and full when the car is off but then when I start my car and turn the ac on it drops all the way to empty. Then when I turn the car off it goes back up to full, what does this mean??

When the cars off the compressor isn't working so the pressure equalizes and reads whatever the temp is in the lines essentially so not the true reading

So you dont have to create vaccuum before adding refrigerant? I have a car that leaks and i plan on replacing the hose. If i was doing a total refill wouldnt i have to create vaccuum?
@LJsGarage4 ай бұрын
Correct always pull a vacuum after repairing the leak and refilling. It dries the system and gives you the chance to leak test before adding. In a pinch if you need to add some for a trip or something you can skip the vacuum but the system won't be running efficiently

I do not recommend this they are usually filled with sealant that can clog your system and may not have the right type of gas your vehicles A/C requires so it will not run at optimum performance and can and quite possibly will lead to damage or decrease in performance as the system gets clogged due to the sealant being dispersed through your system.

@@LJsGarageNOT if you ain’t got enough refrigerant in the system to make it kick on. We both know that a compressor will NOT kick on until the pressure gets above the low pressure switch’s pressure point!!! The low pressure switch tell the clutch on the compressor to engage when the pressure gets low and before it starts blowing hot air on the inside, but the other side of that is anything BELOW that low pressure switch setting will keep the clutch from engaging, as well. The clutch will not engage with an empty system. It’ll ONLY engage the clutch when you get the pressure ABOVE that minimum pressure point.
